1994 Honda Civic Del Sol VTEC MINT ONE OWNER LOW MILES B16 DOHC RARE 5-Speed
1994 Honda Del Sol VTEC DOHC 5-Speed Description
Ladies dudes guys friends pals buddys gentlemen buds dobermans and robots I have up for sale one of my many toys that will be leaving the premises under order from the roommate. Also commonly known as the fiance, the ol' lady, the ol' ball and chain, or the wifebot 3000 depending on what part of the country or solar system you come from. I have a mr2 turbo, Ducati monster 900 concrete tiger edition, Ducati 998 matrix reloaded edition, and a 86' corolla GTS hatch all up for sale on one website or another. Woe is me I tell you, woe is me. These are my personal toys from my personal collection. Without further adieu I give you the 1994 Honda Del Sol VTEC.
If you read my Ducati monster 900 listing you'll see I generally enjoy a great opening and a better story prior to actually describing the vehicle but I can't do that here I have to let the car speak for itself. It would not honor such a vehicle to do so. Title is clean clear and in my name, it is basically a one owner vehicle but technically 2 now as I have only had it for a year I got it from the original owner out of Ohio which was an older lady who donated the car for charity and I bought it from the charity auction (strange place to find a car like this but it was meant to be!). I also have the carfax and it is totally clear, no wrecks and it verifies the mileage to be 100% legit. The shift knob, e-brake handle, pedals, steering wheel, seats and carpet all verify the legit low mileage of this car. Not to mention just drive it, if you've ever wondered what it would be like to drive one brand new this is as close as you're going to get unless you yank one out of a museum, the transmission/steering/suspension is fresh and tight, drives and operates like new. Let's get into the details.
Exterior: The paint is in great shape and is all original except maybe the front bumper, the plastic pieces have faded slightly which is common but overall you can tell it was garaged because it is about 10x better than any other red 94 del sol I've ever seen. There are a few small un-noticeable dings that you could easily PDR and a few scratches that have been touched up it was not a museum piece over the last 23 years but it has survived 98%. If you wanted to turn it into a museum piece you easily could with minor investment. The power antenna is no dice which is a common failure and cheap fix, everything else works like brand new. No rust, undercarriage is clean, couple paint chips here and there like I said it isn't perfect but it is really close. If you knew what you were doing with a good wet sand buff and wax job it would probably look brand new. No cracks in any of the glasses and all the lights are good. All the doors/trunk/hood/gas door open and close like new you can feel they haven't been used much all the hinges are tight.
Interior: Interior wise it is almost perfect. 3x issues, the drivers floor mat has a stain that will probably come out, the drivers seat bolster has a small repairable tear common anytime a fat lazy person owns one of these cars, the dash has some adhesive residue to the left of the gauge cluster where someone had a SiriusXM thing mounted (can probably be removed I haven't tried). Other than that it is perfect, radio works good, all gauges work, A/C and Heat work good, zero cracks in any thing, carpet is great, console is great, shifter is tight, smells great, all the windows go up and down great including the back one, door locks work good, all the lights work good, basically fix 3x things you have a perfect all original interior.
Mechanical: Mechanically it is 99% perfect. Has 1x problem, an exhaust leak near the muffler. That is it, literally. I never fixed because I was contemplating putting a tasteful genuine HKS exhaust system on it but never worked up the balls to modify it. I can have it fixed for $100 if you think it is a big deal but I figured whoever buys it might want to do their own exhaust anyways. The clutch is like new, brakes like new (has new rear calipers someone left the e-brake on too long), engine like new, suspension like new, steering like new, drives like new. AND it was all kept original Honda OEM parts only. The battery is an OEM Honda battery, the timing belt was done with an OEM Honda belt that says Honda on it along with Honda water pump etc.... The only thing I have done to it mechanically is oil changes, spark plugs once, flushed brake fluid, coolant, and trans fluid. I also checked the valve clearances and they are all good. It of course has the factory B16A3 engine and Y21 trans. The tires are pretty damn new were put on right before I bought it and I have only put 2,000 miles on it plenty of life left there. It crosses VTEC hard pulls hard, no smoke, no lights on the dash, no noises runs as well as you would expect it to. Has perfect compression on all cylinders, it was broken in well. Super rare to find an all virgin USDM B16 (first year they were offered in the states).
That is pretty much it, this is a no reserve auction so whatever it goes for it goes for (hopefully atleast as much as I paid for it since it is the only one for sale anywhere in the states as far as i've seen). If you have any questions or I forgot something please feel free to ask. Thanks for looking!
