I purchased this 1991 Honda Beat from a family member of the builder in March of 2018. Since purchasing it I have had the following services done and confirmed that all of vehicles components are in proper good working order. These services were done by Motorcycle Tire Center in Orange, CA on 4/21/18
Oil Change – Amsoil Synthetic 10W40
HiFlo Oil Filter
NGK Spark Plugs
New Throttle Cable and adjuster
Repaired the fiberglass air box and made it one piece.
This 1991 Honda Beat is registered in CA as a 1980 Honda Beat and is smog exempt. Being smog exempt the registration can be renewed in CA by the new owner or can be registered legal in any state in the USA.
I was planning on keeping this but things have changed and I have decided to let it go to a new owner. Can be used as a daily driver and gets more looks then any car I have driven around. People try to stop me all the time asking what it is and asking lots of questions about it. It is very fun to drive and will bring years of joy to the new owner.
The original Hayabusa engine conversion was originally done by AWR Racing in 2009. Here is an article about the build with more info.

Here is some info from the previous owner and builder that has a lot more info and history on this vehicle.

This Honda Beat is in better condition than most I have seen and better yet 100% legal in the USA for all 50 states. You won’t find that by importing one from Japan or Canada and it take a lot of work to get one registered to be used in CA or the USA legally. It cost more than 40K to build this vehicle to what it is today and I am offering it for about ½ of what it cost to build it. I am in Buena Park CA and you can reach me at 714-263-6976 if you would like to see the vehicle and go for a ride before bidding or winning the auction.
Here is a list of detailed work done to the vehicle.

Switchable internal OEM stator and external 95 amp alternator driven from crankshaft thru billet cover and pulley assy.

Sequential shift: 6 speeds forward and 6 speeds reverse. CV axles are made similar to Porsche 930 design to allow greater articulation (rebuilt 2017).
SUSPENSION:
Custom FOX coilovers with reservoirs (rebuilt 2017). Front upper and lower cross-members. A softer ride can be had with simple spring rate reduction. Remove 150# rear coils, install 125# front coils on rear and purchase 100# coils on front. Simple, low cost.
Brakes:
4 wheel discs (rebuilt 2017)
RIMS / TIRES:
15 x 6.5 Eagle aluminum power coated black / 185 x 55 x 15 Yoko S-Drive w/ 50% tread.

Custom easy-install luggage rack assy.
BODY:
No structural compromising rust, only minor on bare unprotected surfaces. Undercoated. As a daily driver, there are minor paint scratches or rock nicks and cracking in 'Backyard' fiberglass side rails (awaiting next paint job). Vinyl top, rear window and tonneau cover in good condition with no rips or tears.
INTERIOR:
Newly fabricated in 2016
This project was not built for ultimate speed but rather a spirited driving experience. The throaty exhaust sound up thru the RPMs (11k) is beautiful. The current engine build was not for max HP but rather increased low end torque. Recent dyno at approx 185bhp in 1600 lbs car. Very quick, balanced and reliable.
