1989 Honda CRX HF vehicle for sale by owner
1989 Honda CRX Description
Honda CRX .Although a car nut, at 80 my body has become a classic, so my loss your gain.VIN JHMED8365KS000610 1989 CRX HFI bought this 1989 CRX HF in June 06, 2008. The mi1es were 183,125, I planned on restoring it. Miles as of 08-19-20 are 183,336. I don't have the storage space, so it needs to go. The vehicle came from Colorado, expect for around the rear fender wells it has less rust than many, it was undercoating and rust proofed at one time as you can see by the pictures. As many CRX's have rust in the back two wheel flanges I ordered the metal wheel well repair inserts and they go with the car. The Engine was replaced before I bought it with a D15B7 102hp engine and a 90-91 5sp Transmission (L3 2029246).The transmission shaft has 2 Groves on it 90-91 Both run well. I think the clutch was replaced as well. I checked the compression, after purchase all four cylinders they were very good and within specifications as follows. Compression check 08-19-2009 (cyl)1 170psi (cyl)2 165psi (cyl)3 170psi (cyl)4 170psi. Both seats need recovering. I have pulled the passenger seat but it needs recovering. Front tires are new, rear have good tread. AC works good. The vehicle is 31 years old and is sold as is where is, with no warranty written or verbal. See Note: on conditions of sale. As you can see the car is pretty straight for it's 31 years. It needs paint and the hood has hail marks, why not the rest of the car? beats me, it's how I received it. I've made a few short trips one of about 60 miles, we have 5 cars. Why didn't it get driven we have 5 cars. After the new front end parts and shocks were put in it was never re-aligned and probably will need an alignment. I have decided to sell it as is or if it doesn't sell to have it repainted, fix Fender wells, and seats recovered and of course asked more. My thought is drive it or restore it or both. Check out what they are selling for with new carpet, seats, repaint and a little mechanical adjustments. Good Luck Biding. I have more pictures.PARTS BOUGHT SINCE PURCHASE OF VEHICLE All INSTALLED except wheel well inserts see picture.NAPA Misc. parts$- 38.64Two Keys$- 8.38AC belt $- 18.06Steering wheel(had old after mkt wheel) $- 50.00 Timing belt cover$- 21.02 Ft End Parts replaced $ - 150.00 AC bracket bearing$- 6.92 Exhaust Pipe and Clamps $- 57.06Muffler $- 45.17Battery 7-19-17 Delco 6 yr warranty$- 136.74Four new shocks 7-20-17 $- 81.05Two new tires 7-30-17 (185/60R14 82) $- 77.50New brake and clutch under dash bracket $- 100.00Back left and right wheel well metal ----------fender inserts repair not installed$- 88.00Ft shock bellows Kit$- 20.53New fuel pump relay$- 22.00Total parts etc.--------------------------------------$- 921.07Cost I paid dealer for vehicle-------------------$- 1739.50Total---------------------------------------------------$- 2660.57My best guess the engine is a: D15B7 92-95 CIVIC DX/LX 1493CC 102HP@5900 95FTLB@50004CYL, 16 VALVE REDLINE:6800 SOHC A 92-95 D15B7 HM(1808132) and 90-91 5sp Transmission (L3 2029246).The transmission shaft has 2 Groves on it 90-91 D15B7 ENGINEFound in: 1992-1995 Honda Civic CX (Canadian model) 1992-1995 Honda Civic DX/LX 1993-1995 Honda Civic del Sol S 1992-1995 Honda Civic LSi Coupe (European Market) Displacement : 1493 cm³ Bore and Stroke : 75 mm X 84.5 mm Compression : 9.5:1 Power : 102 hp (76 kW) @ 6200 rpm & 98 ft·lbf (133 N·m) @ 3800 rpm Valvetrain : SOHC (4 valves per cylinder) Piston Code : PM3 Fuel Control : OBD-1 MPFI ECU: P06
