1991 Honda CRX CR-X B18C
1991 Honda CRX Description
Honda CRX. Finally selling my 1991 CRX after 15 years. I bought the car in 2005 from John Wilson at LHT Performance in Pinellas Park FL. John rebuilt, massaged and installed the B18c engine with up to 235 (non turbo) horsepower along with tranny and brake upgrades. It revs to 9000 but power peak is around 7500 to 8. The motor has a little less than 50,000 miles. Its extremely fast and the engine and the rest of the car has never given me a mechanical problem. Other options include AC, sunroof and headers with a sweet aftermarket exhaust that communicates the car’s power without the annoyance of a straight thru exhaust. The odometer shows 202,000 on a straight rust-free body. The interior is in excellent original condition with only a small 1 or 2 inch cut on the back of the driver’s seat and the cheap fuzz rubbing off the stock thin spare tire cover under the hatchback. Besides the hatchback struts and maybe a return spring for driver’s seat belt, what the car needs is paint. It still looks great at a social distance but up close you see where the sun at our high altitude is taking off the clear coat in spots. The weatherstripping is also coming loose on the rear passenger side window and the blackout is coming off the exterior door trim at the window. I had one parking lot ding from an idiot that was watching girls sunbathe while he was trying to park on the rear bumper. It didn’t do any structural damage to the bumper but it knocked the paint off on a 5- or 6-inch section.I have driven the car very little in the last several years. At my age it is getting harder and harder to get in and out of and I drive a truck most of the time due to ranch work. The car is the perfect combination of power, reliability and gas mileage. Driving back from Florida after buying the car I got 35 mpg while doing 80-85 on the interstate. The buyer will get a CRX close to show quality with some good paint and a few other minor cosmetics that will put a smile on his face every time he decides to step on the gas. The buyer shouldn’t have any problem driving it home all the way across the country with the possible exception of the state patrol.
