1964 International Harvester Other custom Description

Here is a knockout looking Travelall. It gets plenty of smiles and comments ANYWHERE IT GOES... EVERY TIME. Its not perfect, its not a 50k restoration.. it just looks good and is cool. Its the custom model with the fancy stainless steel trim dividing paint colors on the outside and a bit fancier on the inside. Most all of these old Internationals were plain, basic, and crude in design. Especially these earlier years.... most were just ...one color, and basic. This one has tinted green glass, soft door panels, not hard metal. Carpet, not rubber. Chrome bumpers, not painted. Chrome caps..and correct sand blasted painted wheels.
The Travelall runs strong and has no lifter ticks (common IH problem) no smoke, no knocks, no oil burning off the engine leaving clouds everywhere.. The carb was rebuilt, it has factory power brakes. It starts easily and without fear..... is it going to start this time?? etc.The paint is nice, the bumpers are ok. The dash, headliner, carpet, seats, door panels are nice. The engine compartment has not been spray painted and detailed to look like it was rebuilt.. I m not into fooling people or trying to create a picture that allows possible buyers to "convince themselves" that because it looks good.. it may have been totally restored and is worth 25k... NOPE! Its original, functional and not needing to be messed with. You could spray paint the inner fenders and steam clean the engine if you were in need of something to do... but the truck wouldn't get any more attention than it does as it is..
Again, its not perfect, its just right in my opinion, nice enough to enjoy and USE.. and not be worried about it so much that its not enjoyable. The only thing that needs attention is something with the brakes. Its has brand new shoes, wheel cylinders, and.. 3 of the 4 drums are brand new.. but were not "turned", just put on.. anyway, it shakes when braking. I would drive it to a neighboring state or further as it is, but the brakes do shake when applied. I think the drums should have been turned before being put on, I just haven't taken the time to do it... Having to many cars is like having a day car with nobody to help run it....
I have taken these pictures today 9-10-2016 after a front yard car wash.. It s been sitting in my garage for close to two years with little use.. It started right up, no problems. I had the oil changed and a grease job done. It's eye candy to everybody... nobody really knows what it is, but it looks proper and correct as it is. The transmission shift solid and firm, 3 speed. There is no front end knocks or cracks, or loose steering issues. Its steers pretty easily really. The wipers work, heater and turn signals work fine. I would say this is not a winter time vehicle, because we are so used to leather power seats, drop down screens, automatic wipers, Bluetooth and all that sort of stuff.. this is not that kind of girl...
This was a standard transmission when new, but converted to an automatic at some point. The tires are not dry rotted, or cracking and have very good tread.
This is what I can think of for now, I see junker travelalls selling fora few thousand bucks...not for sale.. sold, on ebay lately... and I think this is far from a junker...and again.. not a 50 show car trailer queen.
It should bring you more joy than it has me, it hasn't been used much and my wife... ya.. my wife, needs the garage space... that's the blame game there, but she really does need it.
I will set a reserve, but often lower it and get things sold, not sure if I will have a buy it now, or add one in.
Thanks for looking at it, PLEASE>>>>> If.. you buy it, give me a paypal deposit of 500 bucks when you do....
If I am going to or know someone headed your direction, I may be pretty cheap on delivery.. but don't buy it based on that.. its just a possibility. Coast to Coast auto shipping is just up the road from my work, and I would drive the Travelall to them if you used them.
If you come here to pick it up, I am9 minutes from the airport. If I am gone, its a 10.00 cab ride.
