1964 International Harvester Scout Red Carpet Special Description

Up for auction is a 1964 Red Carpet Edition Scout 80. This Scout originally came from Gunnison, Colorado in the early 2000s. I started restoring this Scout about 4 years ago. It has the original IH 152 4 cylinder back by a 3 speed and divorced transfer case. The Scout also has the rare optioned 4.88 gears front and back, also has rare sliding rear windows, and dual gas tanks. International made very few Red Carpet edition Scouts like this one which featured: white paint, red interior, carpet, hubcaps, door-panels, custom door badges, and a dash-pad. The door panels and the dash pad are long gone and unfortunately there aren't any companies that reproduce them. The Scout runs great and cruises around town perfectly. With the gears it only gets up to about 55 mph. The speedo works great, but the gas gauge and the tachometer do not. Only one gas tank is currently hooked up but both have been relined and the other could easily be hooked up. I have gone through all the systems in the truck and rebuilt/replaced all that needed replaced. I installed a radio in the dash that is iPod/iPhone compatible. The Scout had very little rust to begin with but it has been replaced with metal. The tires are brand new Goodyear Wranglers with under 1000 miles on them. This is a good solid Scout and would make a great fun truck to drive around town. It gets a ton of attention everywhere it goes and its always guaranteed to win a trophy at any carshow. These trucks are impossible to find in good condition like this one, so don't miss out! Any serious buyers with questions can reach me at 513-836-0393. I don't need help selling this Scout and no tire kickers please! Thank you, and good luck!
