1972 International Harvester Scout Description

1972 West Coast Scout II

Barn Find

345 V8, Auto Trans,

4x4, Convertible, PS/PB/AC

Up for Auction is this 2 owner, super solid and highly optioned West Coast Scout II. Rescued this Iconic SUV from the dry Climate of the West Coast. It hadn’t been on the road for many years. It sports a newly rebuilt 2bbl Carb, all new fluids, complete tune up and the big 345 runs and drives with plenty of power. Factory A/C which actually works and blows but not cold. Brand new Optima Yellow Top Battery, new Alternator. It has the optional 33 gallon fuel tank that was sent out and cleaned thoroughly. The Scout has power steering & power brakes with drums all around (will probably need brakes soon). Bullet proof Dana’s front and rear. The Wheels are Brand new polished aluminum Eagles. The 31" Yokohama AT’s are practically brand new with less than 1000 mi on them! The body is incredibly solid with absolutely zero rust/cancer. Optional sliding rear side glass. I’ve had many Scouts in the past and this is by far straightest and most solid Scout that I’ve had in a long time. The fender lips, rockers, quarters, floor boards, cargo area and body mounts are perfect, see the pics and especially check out the body mounts! This is the way you want to find these rigs! The exterior has a very cool patina and is little or no visible damage anywhere. The original white paint is definitely not show quality but looks period correct and matches the Scouts personality with only a few minor bumps and bruises for its 45 years of age. The interior is complete, original and in great shape other than the front saddle seat covers. Rear bench seat has zero tears! The top has never been off! All the glass is in great shape. The Scout runs and drives good and is a great candidate for a restoration or keep the patina and drive as is. These later year Scouts are by far the best looking and are more modern equipped with better brakes and better Dana’s. The Title is clear, signed and ready to go. Serious bidders only…please check with your boss before clicking that “Bid” box. This true American Icon is so fun to drive and draws attention everywhere it goes. Fairly priced with a low reserve. Would make a great Tax Refund gift for that special person. Where else are going to find a great Scout like this that is not totally rusted out and not a POS for under 10K? Restored, they are pulling ridiculous money which makes it a great investment!

Haggerty Insurance said this about International Scouts: “International Scouts SUV’s are up by 85%” and that “These SUV’s are going to be the next big thing”.
