1972 International Scout II - with Nissan SD33T diesel engine
1972 International Harvester Scout Base Description
This is a 1972 International Scout II base model, restored to a daily driver condition. It is about 95% completed- the only thing left is the interior seats, headliner, and door panels. It originally had a 304 V8 engine and 3 speed manual transmission, these were replaced with a 1980 Scout II Nissan SD33T turbo diesel engine and 4 speed T19 manual transmission with low 1st gear. A 1980 parts scout was used for some other upgrades as well, such as: front high back bucket seats, a sway bar was added to front suspension, wider wheels for larger sized tires. It has a novice paint job from a local vocational school's auto body class. It looks great at 20 feet, closer than that and you can see some imperfections. It has 3.73 gears in both differentials, Dana 44 rear and 30 front. 4wd works great. It has the original drum brakes on all 4 wheels and it is also manual steering. I had plans to upgrade these in the future but it does drive well enough as it is. Odometer reads 44231 at this time. These are believed to be original miles on the Scout. The diesel engine at the time it was purchased was believed to have less than 15000 miles on it, so it would have around 20000 miles on it now. It smokes a little on startup and clears up quickly as the engine warms.
New parts: Aluminum radiator, 31x10.5x15 tires (95%tread remaining), 2.5" exhaust downpipe from ScoutCo LLC, brake master cylinder, transmission clutch and throw-out bearing, windshield glass, tailgate glass, metal side mirrors, 19 gallon poly gas tank, metal fuel lines, class III tow hitch, stereo/cd player w/ aux & usb inputs, dark blue interior carpet, truck bed liner paint inside tub body, sound mat installed inside on the floors, urethane body mount bushings, 1" body lift, urethane leaf spring bushings, all original leaf springs were professionally re-arched to give an additional 2" lift, Sun Pro dash gauges, and I'm sure a lot more I'm forgetting.
Some extra parts not pictured that will come with the Scout: spare SD33 non-turbo diesel engine for parts (does not crank over), interior fiberglass trim panels, metal door panels, and a shed full of various Scout parts I may be willing to part with.
Rust notes: There were 4 small rust holes in the cab floor corners that have steel plates welded over and sealed. There is a small area of paint chipping below the rear passenger side window from underneath the rubber window seal. Possibly from something not getting sealed properly during the paint process (novice). There are no other areas of rust on this scout.

This Scout is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells.
