1975 International Harvester Scout NO RESERVE! Description

NO RESERVE ON THIS HARD TO FIND 1975 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER 150 1/2 TON PICKUP! AUCTION ENDS FRIDAY JULY 21ST AT 6:45PST TRUE NO RESERVE AUCTION THAT WILL RUN FULL 7 DAY TERM AND THERE IS NO BUY IT NOW! THIS IS JUST A GOOD CLEAN AND STRAIGHT OLD CLASSIC WORK HORSE BINDER! THE IH TRUCKS ARE GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND EVERY YEAR, BUT ESPECIALLY THE 75'S. 1975 WAS THE LAST YEAR INTERNATIONAL MADE THE FULL SIZE PICKUP AND TRAVELALL TRUCKS WITH A TOTAL OF ONLY 6000 TRUCKS MADE WITHIN THE TRAVELALL, 1/2, 3/4 AND 1 TONS COMBINED LEAVES ONLY A FRACTION OF THAT NUMBER LEFT AFTER OVER 40 YEARS. PRODUCTION ENDED ON THE FULLSIZE TRUCKS ON APRIL 28TH 1975 AND WITH A MARCH 10TH 1975 BUILD DATE THIS TRUCK WAS BUILT IN THE LAST MONTH OF THE FULL-SIZE TRUCK LINE AND THE TRUE END OF A LEGEND AND ERA. THE TRUCK LINE HAD THIS SAME GENERAL BODY STYLE FROM 1969-1975 WITH SMALL CHANGES TO THE FRONT END AND TRIM THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. IN THIS TIME RUN THE HALF TON WAS BADGED SEVERAL NAMES FROM THE 1000, 1010,1110, 100 AND 150 WHICH THIS TRUCK IS AND STANDS FOR HEAVY HALF TON OVER THE 100. BESIDES A TAILGATE AND PASSENGER SIDE FENDER SWAP THIS 42 YEAR OLD CLASSIC IS AN ALL ORIGINAL SURVIVOR DOWN TO IT'S 4 DECADE OLD ORIGINAL DARK BROWN METALLIC PAINT, INTERIOR AND ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN IN WASHINGTON STATE IT'S WHOLE LIFE, HAS A CLEAN TITLE AND UP TO OUR TIME OF PURCHASE IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A REGISTERED, MAINTAINED AND REGULARLY DRIVEN TRUCK FOR ALL OF THE PAST 42 YEARS. THERE ARE 3 SEPARATE VIDEOS WE COMBINED INTO ONE AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE PAGE WITH A FULL IN DEPTH INTERIOR/EXTERIOR WALK AROUND, THEN A COLD START VIDEO FOLLOWED BY A RUN AND DRIVE. PLEASE ALSO SCROLL ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM TO SEE THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION AND ALL 175 LARGE DETAILED PICS OF THIS LOW MILE BEAUTY!AS YOU MAY BE ABLE TO TELL BY OUR NAME OR OUR PAST AUCTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE SEEN, WE ARE ALWAYS ON THE HUNT FOR ODD BALLS, CLEAN CLASSIC ORIGINAL SURVIVORS AND CLASSIC TRUCKS, SO THIS BINDER BEING THE PERFECT COMBO OFF ALL WE HAD TO HAVE IT. WHILE WE HAVE A PASSION FOR ALL CLASSIC TRUCKS THE C10'S AND THE INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER LINE HAS ALWAYS BEEN OUR TRUE LOVE AND AT THE TOP OF OUR LIST. THEY ARE ALWAYS HARD TO TURN AWAY WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY COMES TO OWN ANOTHER OR SOMETIMES BUY BACK OWN WE'VE SOLD BEFORE, SO WHEN WE CAME ACROSS THIS WELL SORTED AND ORIGINAL LONG BEEN 75 150 HEAVY HALF TON THAT WAS BUILT WITHIN THE LAST MONTH OF THE OVER 40 YEAR RUN OF THE IH TRUCK LINE WE JUST HAD TO TAKE IT HOME. EVER SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER AND GETTING MY HANDS DIRTY FOR THE FIRST TIME AS A INTERNATIONAL OWNER ON MY 72 SCOUT I HAD AT 16 OWN, I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THERE IS NOT ANOTHER VEHICLE LINE TO ME THAT BLEEDS MORE AMERICAN THEN THE RED AND BLACK IH CROSS. TO ME I ALWAYS FELT LIKE THIS WAS SUCH A COOL BADGE TO WEAR ON YOUR TRUCK WITH A LINE THAT TRULY WORKED ACROSS AMERICA FROM THE BIG RIGS HAULING GOODS FROM STATE LINE TO STATE LINE, THE TRACTORS AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT ON THE FARMS, THE FRIDGES AND FREEZERS THAT KEPT OUR FOOD COLD,TO THE BUSES THAT HAULED THE CHILDREN AND THE ARMORED TRUCKS THAT MOVED MONEY ACROSS THE COUNTY. TO ME THIS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE WORKING MANS COMPANY AND ONE OF THE BACK BONES OF AMERICA. THIS TRUCK IS A TRUE RUNNER AND DRIVER AND CAN HONESTLY BE LEFT ALONE AND JUST DRIVEN, USED AND ENJOYED AS IT IS ASCETICALLY AND MECHANICALLY FOR YEARS AND YEARS AS AN OLD WORK HORSE OR WEEKEND FUN TRUCK, BUT I COULDN'T IMAGINE A MORE HONEST OR DESERVING CANDIDATE FOR A PARTIAL SYMPATHETIC RESTORATION TO A FULL FRAME OFF BUILD AS IT IS A TRUE ORIGINAL AND ICONIC PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY. THIS TRUCK IS FROM AN ERA WHEN LIFE WAS TRULY DIFFERENT AND MANY OF US RESPECT AND LOOK BACK IN FONDNESS. THIS HARVESTER ONLY HAS A 5 DIGIT ODOMETER THAT SHOWS 72,566 AND ROLLS OVER AT 100K, SO WE REALLY HAVE NO IDEA OF THE TRUE MILES. WITH THE MINIMAL WEAR ON THE USUALLY VULNERABLE RUBBER FLOOR MAT AND RUBBER FOOT PEDALS IT COULD BE THE ORIGINAL MILES, BUT I WOULD LEAN MORE TOWARD IT RUNNING OVER ONCE. IT IS ODO EXEMPT IN WASHINGTON STATE AND WILL SAY THAT ON THE PURCHASE ORDER. PLEASE READ FURTHER AND WATCH THE VIDEO TO GET THE BEST IDEA OF THIS BEAUTY. BODY- THE WORD SURVIVOR ON CLASSICS IS A PRETTY STANDARD TERM NOW DAYS ON ANY OLDER VEHICLE IN ORIGINAL CONDITION AND ESPECIALLY WITH ORIGINAL PAINT, BUT TO ME THE WORD SURVIVOR COULD NEVER BE MORE FITTING THEN A TRUCK THAT IS OVER 30 YEARS OLD AND STILL IN MOSTLY OR ALL ITS ORIGINAL PAINT. JUST DO TO WHAT MOST TRUCKS ARE USUALLY BOUGHT FOR AND DESTINE TO DO JUST OUT OF IT'S DESIGN AND MARKET. THESE TRUCKS NOT ONLY GET USE TO WORK EVERYDAY, BUT THEY OFTEN WORK ALL DAY RIGTH BESIDE US, HAUL OUR FAMILIES AND USUALLY WORK ON THE WEEKENDS TOO THAT LEAVE THEM VULNERABLE TO MANY WAYS OF WEAR, DAMAGE OR ACCIDENTS, ESPECIALLY IN OVER 40 YEARS OF SERVICE. THIS IH WEARS IT'S YEARS AND SCARS THAT KIND OF TELLS IT'S LIFE STORY LIKE A OPEN BOOK SHOWING WHAT A TRUCK GOES THROUGH AFTER BEING A REGISTERED AND ACTIVE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD EVERY YEAR FOR OVER 4 DECADES. AS YOU GO AROUND THIS TRUCK YOU KIND OF GAIN A RESPECT FOR IT FROM BEING WORKED, USED AND JUST PLAIN DRIVEN FOR THE LAST 42 YEARS AND WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BEHIND THE WHEEL AND HOW MANY LIVES HAVE BEEN SHARED WITH THIS TRUCKS JOURNEY. THIS TRUCK IN MANY WAYS DOES TELL SOME OF THAT JOURNEY WITH ALL IT'S WEAR IN THE PAINT THAT STILL HOLDS A SEMI GLOSS IN THE ROOT BEER BROWN DOES SHOW CHIPS, SCRATCHES, FADED PAINT AND SURFACE RUST ALONG WITH ITS TAILGATE AND RIGHT FENDER THAT HAVE BEEN IN A WAY STITCHED OR TRANSPLANTED ON FROM WHAT I LIKE TO THINK OF AS A PREVIOUS OVER WORK OR TRAUMA TO KEEP IT A STRAIGHT, SOLID AND A PRESENTABLE TRUCK. TO ME THAT IS WHAT ADDS TO THE APPEAL AND DESIRE WHEN LOOKING FOR THAT ORIGINAL SURVIVOR WORKHORSE FARM TRUCK LOOK ON A CLASSIC AND THINKING OF HOW MUCH CHANGE IN THE ROADS, TRAFFIC, POPULATION, THE EVOLUTION IN VEHICLES AND JUST THE MILES OF SCENERY THIS TRUCK HAS TAKEN IN AND THE CHANGES THAT FOLLOWED IN THEM THROUGH THE YEARS. ALL THE LIGHTS WORK WITH NICE LENSES AND EVEN THE REAR CARGO CAB LIGHT WORKS PERFECT AND ALL GLASS IS IN NICE SHAPE. THE FRONT GRILLE IS IN PERFECT SHAPE WHICH IS TOUGH TO FIND SINCE THEY MADE THEM ONLY ABOUT THREE TIMES THICKER THEN A POP CAN AND ARE OFTEN TIMES OR DAMAGED. BOTH BUMPERS STILL PRESENT WELL, BUT SHOW AGE AND WEAR ALONG WITH THE RUBBERS AROUND THE SIDE AND FRONT GLASS. THIS TRUCK DOES HAVE SURFACE RUST FROM PAINT WEAR AND A FEW SMALL ARES OF CANCER, BUT IT IS A VERY SOLID TRUCK OVERALL AND COULD BE LEFT AS IS FOR YEARS AND YEARS. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS ALL THE MOST VULNERABLE AREAS ARE SOLID AND DRY LIKE THE INNER AND OUTER ROCKERS, DOG LEGS, A & B PILLARS, UNDER SIDE OF HOOD, BATTERY BOX, INNER FENDERS, FIREWALL, COWL, RAIN GUTTERS, HOOD, BODY MOUNTS, CAB FLOORS AND BESIDES A LITTLE SURFACE RUST FROM WEAR ON THE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS THEY ARE VERY SOLID. THERE IS A SPOT OF CANCER ON THE BOTTOM BACK OF THE DRIVER FENDER, SOME NEAR THE DOOR HINGES, ON BOTH BACK BOTTOM CORNERS OF THE BED NEAR THE BUMPER, A SMALL SPOT INSIDE THE BED NEAR THE RIGHT WHEEL TUB AND SOME STARTING AROUND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD JUST ABOVE THE GLASS AND AT BOTH BOTTOM CORNERS, BUT THEY DO NOT LEAK INSIDE. THERE ARE NO BIG DENTS AND HAS JUST A FEW LITTLE DINGS OR SMALL SOFT DENTS ON IT FROM THE YEARS WITH A COUPLE SMALL DENTS ON THE TRANSPLANTED TAIL GATE, A LITTLE SOFT CREASE ON DRIVER FRONT SIDE OF THE BED THAT YOU CAN SEE ON ANGLE SHOTS, THE SAME AREA ON THE RIGHT SIDE LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A LITTLE FILLER FROM A INCIDENT IN THE PAST BUT KNOCKS LIKE SOLID METAL AND MY MAGNET STICKS NOT PROBLEM AND YOU CAN ALSO LOOK UP FROM THE BOTTOM AND NOT SEE ANY PANEL DENTED IN. THERE IS ALSO A FEW ARES ON THE BE THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED UP WITH BLACK OR A CLOSE MATCH BROWN OVER THE YEARS, BUT WHICH EVER WAY YOU PLAN TO GO ON A TRUCK THE BEST THING ABOUT A ORIGINAL TRUCK EVEN IF IT HAS MORE WEAR THEN YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS IT IS A TRUE NO QUESTIONS TRUCK. YOU SEE EXACTLY WHAT YOUR GETTING AND WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT 4 PAINT JOBS DONE IN THE PAST YEARS, BAD BODY WORK OR RUST COVERED UP OR OTHER HIDDEN ISSUES THAT WILL COME TO HAUNT YOU LATER IN THE PROCESS. OVERALL THIS TRUCK DEPENDING ON YOUR TASTE AND PERSONALITY IS EITHER A GREAT BLANK CANVAS FOR YOUR BUILD OR IS ONE THAT ALREADY HAS THE FOUNDATION OF THE LOOK YOUR GOING FOR AND IS A CANVAS 80% THERE THAT JUST NEED YOUR HANDS IN IT.

INTERIOR- INSIDE IT OVERALL MATCHES THE ORIGINAL CONDITION OF THE TRUCK. IT IS CLEAN, VERY PRESENTABL, COMFORTABLE AND BESIDE THE RADIO IT IS ALL COMPLETE AND ORIGINAL. WHILE DRIVING THIS 75 IT HAS NO ODORS WITH THE VEHICLE ON, OFF OR DRIVING AND ISN'T A REALLY LOUD ANNOYING RIDE. BOTH FLY WINDOWS LOCK PROPERLY, BOTH SIDE WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN, THE RUBBER SEALS AROUND THE DOORS DO LET A LITTLE MORE AIR SOUND COME IN THEN NORMAL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, BUT WITH THE AERODYNAMICS OF A SHOE BOX IT WILL NEVER BE A 100% QUIET RIDE. THE DASH IS IN REALLY NICE SHAPE WITH A LITTLE AGING ON THE DASH PAD AND SOME ROUGH CUTS AROUND THE STEREO INSTALL. THE GAUGES ARE NICE AND CLEAR, BUT THE FUEL, SPEEDOMETER AND VOLT GAUGE ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT WORK (A VERY COMMON INTERNATIONAL ISSUE) THE FLOOR MAT IS IN VERY NICE SHAPE, THE SEAT HAS SOME SLITS IN THE MATERIAL AND SLIGHT DARKENING IN SOME AREAS, BUT IT IS STILL COMFORTABLE AND ALL SEAT BELTS LATCH. THE DOOR PANELS SHOW AGING, BUT STILL LOOK PRETTY GOOD AND ARE ALL THERE. THE HEADLINER AND VISORS ARE STILL INTACT AND COULD USE A LITTLE CLEANING, BUT ALSO SHOW THEIR 42 AGE. OVERALL THIS INTERIOR IS ALL INTACT, VERY RESPECTABLE, COMFORTABLE AND HAS HELD UP TO 42 YEARS VERY WELL. KEEP IN MIND THESE TRUCKS WERE NOT BUILT WITH INTERIORS TO LAST MUCH MORE THEN TEN YEARS, DIDN'T GO THOUGH A WIND TUNNEL FOR AERODYNAMICS TO KEEP WIND NOISE DOWN AND A PICKUP TRUCK WASN'T CONSIDERED TO BE THE FAMILY VEHICLE OR A LUXURY VEHICLE LIKE THEY ARE NOW, THEY SIMPLY WERE STILL A TOOL TO GET A JOB DONE.

MECHANICAL/UNDER CARRIAGE- AS STATED ABOVE THIS IS A ORIGINAL RUNNING AND DRIVING TRUCK THAT IS DEPENDABLE DRIVER AS IT SITS AND HAS BEEN OVERALL A WELL MAINTAINED AND LOOKED AFTER TRUCK TO MAKE SURE IT STAYS THAT WAY AND CAN HANDLE ANY JOB ONCE ASKED TO. THIS TRUCK ALWAYS FIRES RIGHT UP NO MATER HOW LONG IT SITS WITH JUST TWO PUMP TO THE THROTTLE THANKS TO A NICELY TUNED ELECTRIC CHOKE CARBURETOR. GOING OVER THE TRUCK IT HAS HAS DUAL EXHAUST DONE NOT THAT LONG AGO WITH KILLER SOUNDING FLOWMASTER MUFFLERS, THE BRAKES ARE ALL IN EXCELLENT SHAPE AND THE TIRES LOOK TO ONLY HAVE A FEW MILES ON THEM. THE FACTORY 345 IS A VERY SMOOTH RUNNING MOTOR THAT HAS NICE THROTTLE, PULLS STRONG, DOESN'T STUMBLE, THE CARB DOESN'T RUN RICH OR LOAD UP AND THIS TRUCK DOESN'T LEAVE YOUR CLOTHES AND HAIR WITH THAT RICH RUNNING SMELL. THIS MOTOR IS A VERY WELL SORTED AND TIGHT RUNNER, BUT IT DOES HAVE A VERY MINOR EXHAUST LEAK AT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND A FAINT LIFTER TICK, BUT IT DOES NOT SMOKE IT KNOCK. THE T-19 4SPEED MANUAL TRANS HAS A NICE CLUTCH PEDAL FEEL THAT GRABS AND RELEASE RIGHT WHERE IT SHOULD, TIGHT FORKS AND SHIFT PATTERN THAT ALLOYS FOR EASY AND PLEASURABLE DRIVES. THIS TRUCK IS VERY EASY AND FUN TO DRIVE THANKS TO THE QUICK RATIO POWER STEERING BOX THAT MAKES TURNS A EASE IN THIS BIG SLED. THIS TRUCK TRACKS AND STOPS STRAIGHT AND SMOOTH AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS, IN TRAFFIC, THROUGH THE CITY AND ON WINDY BACK ROADS. THERE IS NO SHAKING FROM THE TIRES OR BRAKES, NO CLUNKING OR PULLING IN THE FRONTEND OR BRAKES AND NO STRANGE NOISES COMING FROM THE TRANS OR REAREND. BESIDE THE LITTLE EXHAUST LEAK AND LIFTER TICK THIS 75 BASICALLY RUNS, DRIVES AND RIDES JUST LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT IT TO WHETHER YOU WERE LOOKING AT IT IN THE 80'S, 90S OR PRESENT. I WOULD TRUST THIS OLD HARVESTER TODAY TO TAKE ME TO WORK, RUN ME TO THE DUMP, HAUL ROCK ON THE WEEKEND OR TAKE ME ON FEW HUNDRED MILE CAMPING TRIP.

WHILE I KNOW EVERYONE'S OPINION IS DIFFERENT THIS TRUCK TO ME IS EVERYTHING AN OLD TRUCK SHOULD BE, WHILE IT HAS SOME FLAWS AND SHOWING ITS JOURNEY AND STORY, IT DOESN'T ACT LIKE A MODERN TRUCK, FULFILLS THAT OLD TRUCK NEED AND FEELING A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR, BUT IF YOU HAVE NOT EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO SIMPLY LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF MODERN INVENTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED SINCE THIS TRUCK WAS BORN AND HOW FAR OTHER ITEMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE PAST FEW DECADES AND KEEP IN MIND NEW VEHICLES HAVE THE BOXES TO CHECK FOR COMFORT OPTIONS LIKE LEATHER, HEATED SEATS, NAVIGATION ETC AND VEHICLES OF THIS ERA LOADED MEANT GETTING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, A BASIC AM STEREO AND A SPARE TIRE :) THIS MAY HELP TO AIM YOUR EXPECTATIONS ON OWNING A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE. The older the car, the harder it is to define the condition of the vehicle. Most of our vehicles are specialty vehicles or are 15+ years old, and usually trucks. Because of this, it is very difficult to describe each vehicle to everyone’s satisfaction. Based on the bidder's personal experience, some bidders will be overly pleased with my description and pictures, and others may feel that I fell short. I post these auctions based on how I want to see auctions when I’m buying, keeping in mind what I look for, and I try to put your eye's to what I can see and touch. Please help me by asking all questions and letting me know if other pictures are wanted. If you do not see a pic or description of a item or a area on the truck please do not assume anything and ask me about the specifics your a needing or for more pics and i will post every question asked by members so all potential bidders can see. Every car is available for inspection and i personally drive each vehicle before listing it and If anything does not work properly I will let you know. Of course I am only human and these are mechanical creatures and these are used vehicles, so please keep this in mind when bidding.
