1971 International Harvester TRAVELETTE CREW CAB CREW CAB DELUXE Description

If you know International Harvester trucks, or are someone who loves crew-cab pickups, you already know what a very rare and hard to find vehicle this is. I have only seen one other on eBay in a very long time and it is currently listed for $65,950.00
I have searched for many years to find one of these pickups, but only came across badly rusted and abused ones or those that were 4x4 and modified. I was looking for a rust free, low mileage example that had not been messed with. Yes that is near impossible. I did find a restored one in Texas, but the fellow would not part with it. Then when I had all but given up, I found this one just a short distance away from home.
This truck to my understanding has only had two owners since new and yes the original mileage is correct at 26,315. It has never been painted, or modified. When it was new, the first owner put the weird looking rear bumper on it and a camper that stayed on it for years. This truck is 99.99% rust free. The bed has some surface rust that can easily be remedied, but not dents. There are a few little bumps and bruises here and there.
The interior is 100% untouched. Take a look at the pictures. The engine is the 392 V8 with improved cooling block, know as the torque monster and it is the one to have. The 3 speed automatic transmission shifts like new. Everything works. It starts right up and purrs. Power steering, automatic, and power brakes. This grand old crew cab gets an embarrassing amount of attention, including teen age girls for some reason; hmmm, go figure.
I am a street rod builder and I have been so tempted to build this wonderful example into a show truck with full air ride etc., however everyone that see's it says "don't do it" leave it like it is". So if you want a super solid, low mileage IHI Crew, this may just be the ticket. You could drive it as it is, do a minimal cosmetic restoration and make it show room, or ????
I know I will come to my senses in about 3 days, so that is how long I have listed it for. "No, I will not disclose the reserve".
