Original paint clean 4WD V8 survivor
1970 International Harvester Scout Description
Very clean 4WD, 4-speed Scout with original Lime Green Metallic paint. Odo. Reads 63,xxx Not sure if original or it has rolled once. Truck initially was in Washington State, then Kansas, now Colorado.
Disc brake conversion, mechanical fuel pump conversion (was vacuum), electric wiper conversion (also were vacuum), plastic twin 9-gallon fuel tank conversion ( they don’t rust). Dana 30 front axle, Dana 44 rear. Seems to have Powr-Lok rear diff. The 4-speed manual trans is the late one with the revised second gear so you can often launch in second. She is a blast to drive, gets lots of positive comments.
Flaws:
Missing the “International” badge on grille.
Drivers side window regulator inop.
Fuel gauge seems to only work for the RH tank.
Play in steering which seems to be primarily at the drag link to box joint. No pulling to the side while driving or braking. Manual brakes, manual steering, manual windows, manual transmission, manual door locks, manual everything!!
Ammeter never moves but charging system is fine. Oil pressure is right in middle when cruising and warmed up.
Horn inop.
Windshield washers inop.
Radio inop.
One dash knob missing.
Heat riser duct for air cleaner missing.
Fresh air ducts in engine compartment missing.
Vacuum line to air cleaner flap missing.
Not rust-free but very, very clean body for an unrestored Scout. Some rust in lower inner sections of both doors, plus in passenger-side windshield pillar that also shows in passenger-side upper kick panel area. Looks pretty darn good everywhere else. I have tons more photos I can provide.
Recent clutch, chrome Rally wheels, tires, rebuilt Holley 500-cfm carb, fuel pump, fluids, battery, starter, clutch cable, tuneup.
Seats redone at some point. No rear seat but had the mounts for one. Selling only because I bought another vehicle and can’t keep all of them, according to my wife....
