1976 International Harvester Scout Description

This beautiful Green Scout is very dear to me. It has been worked on and touched by some of the best people in the West Coast Scout market. From Billy aka Scout Dad, Mike Ismail IH Parts America, John Karols Garage and Teddy from Westside Performance. As you may already know the Scout Family is a smaller yet stronger tribe of vintage 4 x 4 community. Without all the new friends I had made on social media I would not have learned nor created the truck you see before you. I have pretty much flipped this car from top to bottom. The only thing I did not do was take the frame off the chassis. But everything has been kept original, but improved or worked on. It's a fantastic running truck now and sounds heavenly when driving down the road.
History: This Scout has been a West Coast Scout for all of its life. The original owner had it in his family for the first 41 years of its life in Oregon. This family knew how to weld and the truck was originally used for back country, rock climbing, offroading and hunting. The front bumper and rear bumper and the rock sliders and the custom roll cage/bar were all created by this owner. The next two years of its life went to his buddy who kept it in his garage for most of 2 years. I purchased this vehicle last year with the intention of making it my own. The original paint was in great condition and tub had a 2" spot of rust of which was fixed quickly. Otherwise perfect body and straight lines.
The original build and base for the truck was done by the infamous Scout DadIH in Bakersfield, CA. He's done many trucks that exist in the interwebs. See below for video content: After receiving the truck I sent the truck to get painted and overhauled and changed the suspension, wheels, tires, axles, kept the original chairs but added custom upholstery, and new gage cluster to give it that unique cockpit feel, wrapped dashpad and doors,
After I received it back, the truck still has suspension issues so I sent to Karol's Garage, a famous IH Scout mechanic here in LA. The truck lived there for a couple of months and we fixed engine, and overheating issues, re did the suspension all around, it passed smog, and we improved power. After getting it back my truck literally improved by 50% in power, handling and overall riding. Teddy from West Side Performance also worked on the truck, and helped dial in the overall suspension and handling. Since the first day, ride and handling has improved 300%...no lie.
To make it a one of a kind experience I took it to Al and Eds in Venice, Ca and got it hooked up with an Alpine hidden radio system, hidden in the Tuffy center console, mini amp, Alpine type R 6.5's and 6 x 9's. Blue tooth system. Viper smart alarm, power door locks, Rear view camera and GPS tracker. I wanted to make sure my special truck was safe and findable whenever I wanted it to.

Why am I selling?
I have another IH Scout that I am working on as we speak and I don't have the room at my house for two trucks. Plus I need to finance that build as well. I am looking for the right buyer who will appreciate a complete truck. I have seen vintage 4 x4's (Bronco's, Defenders, FJ's) with similar or less quality work starting and ranging in the $60k-$90k range. This truck is solid and turns heads everywhere I go with it. Everything is pretty much new in it. Engine is solid and purr's like only a v8 should.
