1966 International Harvester COE - CA title - Tilt bed
1966 International Harvester Loadstar Description
Up for grabs is my 1966 International COE, I bought it not to long ago and my landlord is not very stoked on it already taking up the extra parking space while I work on it so thats why I am listing it. I just bought a new Holly 350 carb and electric fuel pump for it and it idles really well now. I put a new PowerPacker cab lift on it so its way safer and super easy to do the cab lift. It is set to Non- Op in the state of California and I have the title in hand.
-304 V8 that runs super solid,-5 speed on the column-Tilt dumping bed- newer red paint, pretty well done.- Extra professionally rebuilt Holly 350 stock carb that came on the truck.
downsides currently.
- Truck runs but the clutch needs a good bleeding or adjustment, I drove it around the block a few times but the clutch is way out of adjustment and I can tell its most likely the master cylinder thats not doing its job very well, could be a quick afternoon project, thats the next project on the list.- Tires are old, the shop down the street has a new set of them ready to mount up for $1300- lights and electrical needs a good looking at, haven't really got to that yet but it could be a few fuses or something more because the headlights don't turn on but the charging system is charging and the battery is brand new.- don't know if the tilt bed works, haven't tried it yet, guessing it just needs a fill of oil, the truck was used on the farm for so many years.- floor under the cab has some bends to it, most likely over the years of lifting the cab the floor has started to arch. I adjusted the gas pedal and its fine for use.- one side window has a crack in it and the seat has a tear in it.
Currently I would say, with a intermediateexperience level mechanic it will be about 20-50 hours and $2,000 ( mostly tire cost ) to really get it running good so you can use it for a shop truck and don't need to worry about it.
I will add some more photos this week, I just wanted to get it listed to keep the landlord happy if it doesn't sell I will just keep working on it and get it dialed in.
Located in the Berkeley Ca area. Will fit on a double axle car trailer, thats how we got it back from the farm because we didn't trust the tires on the highway. Have a forklift and can help put it on the trailer if needed, its about the same wheel base as a F350 extended cab truck, its actually very small. Would be perfect for a diesel upgrade, it would be the coolest rig on the road then.
