1971 Scout 800B 4X4
1971 International Harvester Scout 4X4 Description
Priced to sell and fully ready for summer.!!!!!!Hello, for sale is my 1971 Scout 800-B, yes it's a true 800-b. If you know your IH Scouts then you know that the 800-B's were the last to roll off the production lines in what was a limited production run of approx 6 months from Sept. of 1970 to March of 1971, ending just before the new model Scout II's were introduced. As you can see this is a highly modified Scout, but is very easy to drive every day normal street/highway driving. This truck is a clean California "Turnkey" truck. The body and frame are all original, the powertrain and suspension have been changed out. The 350 motor and 400 turbo trans are GM, and each have approx 25,000 miles on them since going into the Scout approx. 6-7 years ago. The motor is very strong with a 4-barrel intake and carb., no smoking or burning of oil. The trans shifts great, the truck goes down the highway nicely does not track or wander, drives nice and straight . It's got power steering and power disc brakes, which make the truck very easy to handle. A nice set of headers and flow-master exhaust give the truck a nice sound. The truck has a spring over-axel lift and rancho shocks (8) four up front and four in the rear. Axels are 3/4 ton GM with 8-lug wheel hubs. Everything is heavy duty on this truck. The Dana 44's front and rear are great, 4x4 works great, not sure of the gears but believe them to be 3.54. The truck easily does 60-70 on the freeway. Nice, custom roll cage; the interior features carpet front to back, door panels, jumpseats in the rear and bucket seats up front. The soft-top is new and the bikini top will also be sold with the truck. Both gas tanks work as do the all lights, LED's front and back. It's got a 12,000lb wench with remote cord and KC running lights. Nice set of black fender flares. The paint on the truck is showing its age a little but the body is very straight- no rust or bondo. The truck will need to be repainted if you're looking for a high level show finish. Wheels and tires are also in great shape. Tires have approx 80-90% of the tread left on them. This is a great opportunity to have an outstanding Scout for a reasonable price, don't let the lift on this truck scare you away because if you don't like the lift you can always lower it to the height you desire. I've had serval of these Scouts but never one like this it's very special, here's my YouTube link,https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCoEVNfPhbfGNLoGSfxeB-AQwhich will show some of the other scouts I've had/restored. If you have interest and want to workout a deal prior to the end of my listing don't hesitate to call me, like I said this truck won't last long Thanks661-340-3497
