1957 International S-160 4x4 Boom Truck
1957 International Harvester Other Description
I have for sale a 1957 International S-160 4x4 Boom Truck with 5,559 miles. I am the 4th owner and can trace the truck lineage all the way back to when it was purchased new for Clinton County. I have almost all the original paperwork on the truck, s well as a great deal of paperwork that I have collected for it. I should start by saying that this is an AWESOME truck, nd will make someone very happy. In the amount of time I have owned it, ts been nothing but joy. It is remarkably clean and original for its age. It runs great, WD works as it should, ut still needs a little work to be perfect. There are some dents in the cab from its previous life as a truck to haul heavy pieces of road machinery and lift heavy objects for county work such as concrete culverts. It has brakes, ut the Master Cylinder leaks like a faucet. I do have a rebuilt master cylinder that will go with it, nd I had planned on putting on but have too many irons in the fire and never got around to it. The truck sports dual tanks, nd a selector valve that is mechanical under the seat. We did all kinds of thing to get it working properly but could not get reliable fuel flow. Honestly the tanks need pulled and cleaned out, ealed and re-installed. I cut the line going to the carb and have mounted a small remote tank which I use to drive it around. I had planned to put an inline fuel filter there once I fixed both tanks. We have put new oil in it, lugs, ires, oil, tarter, istributor cap and rotor, oints, ondensor, 2v electric fuel pump, uel filter, ebuilt the carb and new battery all to get it running. I have a used muffler that we were going to put on it, s there is not one currently, t is included if the new owner so desires. I have driven this truck at 45 mph in which it shifted beautifully. Headlights work, ash lights work, have a large assortment of parts that go with it, heel chains for it, rigional parts that were changed and I kept, tc. I can provided a detailed list if so interested. It also has a Reese Hitch that was made to fit and just needs welded in. It has the boom which is mounted to the hydraulic dump bed, ut it does come off and we have removed and re-installed it with a tractor. I am selling this because I am currently working on my Masters Degree, elling my house and trying to restore a car that is already almost half done. The end result is that this old girl doesn't get the time, are and attention that she truly deserves. Buyer is responsible for making arrangements for pick up within 7 days of auction closing, lease feel free to ask questions before you bid. It will drive right up onto a trailer no problems. The truck is sold as-is, here is with no warranty expressed or implied. I have a couple of videos that we took of it running and am unable to share the links to them due to Ebay's link policy. Feel free to email me and I would be happy to send you the YouTube links or send them as an attachment in email. Thanks for looking!
