1990 Isuzu Trooper new 3.4 V6 4WD :: Upgraded powertrain :: Great condition!
1990 Isuzu Trooper LS Description
This has got to be one of the cleanest 1st generation Troopers left! It has a professionally installed engine and more that include the most desirable engine, throttle body, CPU, and intake combination. All professionally installed and the kinks have been worked out. Its running great!
The good:3.4 HT crate motor about 20,000 miles ago4.3 TBICustom bored intakeECU from a 3.1 Rodeo to better match power of 3.4New clutch last year - OEM ExedyClutch hydraulics just redone (master, slave, new fluid; $675)All new ignition components (module, coil, etc)New vacuum linesNew custom exhaust just prior to engine swapNew heater core (4 years ago)New A/C components - still leaks and did not work last summer...Speedometer cable new 2 years agoSuperwinch manual hubsAll synthetic oil in transmission, transfer case, and motor.Includes some extra partsYokohama Geolander A/T tires have a couple years left.
I'm the 3rd longterm owner (I bought it in 2010) and the previous owner was small so the seats are in great shape. Driver's seat is just starting to show some wear. Interior is super clean. Only blemishes are on carpet, which can be fully removed/cleaned/replaced. Its and LS with intermittent wipers, rear defrost, power windows and doors, and they all work!
The bad:Front bumper is crooked from a fender bender that the 2nd owner was in over a decade ago. I fixed the fender, but always figured I'd get a custom bumper.The A/C works intermittently, but has a leak. I charge it each summer and hope to patch the leaks eventually. It will probably need new A/C components again if you live somewhere hot.The paint is almost 30 years old. There is no rust to speak of, but it will need paint sometime soonish.
The ugly:Paint- some is still great, but some is not. Clear coat is failing in a couple spots.Windshield chips - has a few, but they've all been sealed.The hitch receiver insert is rusted in the back. I don't often tow, but when I do I'm swapping 2" for 1 7/8" balls to do it...
If I keep it, I'd love to redo the lower end with custom lift, sway bars, etc, but I haven't had time and $$$ to do that so I've focused on mechanical things that are easier to justify. This has been my daily driver for all 8 years I've owned it. This is an amazing rig that is fun to drive, goes highway speeds with ease and even passes other cars (something the 2.8 couldn't do), and is perfectly at home on cement or off road.
I'm happy to work with USHIP or the shipping service the buyer selects. I can also meet serious buyers at the Wenatchee (EAT) airport for inspections.
Thanks!
