Up for sale is my personal 1988 Daimler Double-Six. It was imported under the 25 year rule from Japan which means it is 100% legal for use and is legal to register/title in the United States (California has its own rules and can not be registered there). It is currently registered and titled in Texas with a clear Texas title. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the car is: SAJDDRLW4CC479344. I have owned the vehicle for about 2 years and it has been a great going out to dinner car or when guests are visiting to travel in style.
The Chairman of Jaguar at the time "Lofty" England declared that the new V12 luxury saloon was to be baptized the Daimler Double Six, and so it came to pass and a legend was born.
The Series III, the final derivative of the Daimler Double Six, arrived in 1979 and like its predecessors benefited from the clean-cut, new body designed by famed Italian design house, Pininfarina. The new design featured more glass, slightly squarer lines around the roof area, and up to date front and rear styling. The Series III soldiered on until the late 1980s, outliving the XJ6, the departure of which was delayed by problems installing the engine in the new XJ40 series. This was the flagship car in the Jaguar/Daimler line and was produced until the very end of 1992. The term "XJ12" is also inaccurate as this referred only to the base-trim model and the vast majority sold were the upscale V12 Sovereign or Double Six models.
It would be hard to imagine news footage of the 1980s and early 1990s without a member of the cabinet or the House of Windsor ascending elegantly out of a Double Six. No other car of that period epitomized brisk luxury travel like a Daimler, and in such a truly understated British fashion. This car was not concerned with the pomp and showmanship of a Rolls Royce, it was a Daimler and it meant business. The export market adored it.
This exceptional Daimler Double Six Series 3, was built in1988 and initially finished in a very diplomatic gray/silver metallic (we do not know what this color is called but it is the factory color) with a black leather interior.
Accompanied by a respectable history file along with its original Daimler/Jaguar service handbook, Daimler/Jaguar roadside/tire changing tools. This Daimler Double Six is certainly the finest that we have seen and surely one of the best examples of this eighties statement still surviving to this day.
Currently the Double Six has an original 37,674 Kilometers which is approximately 23,409 miles. I have done its regular oil changes and have changed out the dual air filters. It is in need of a tune up (probably spark plugs) as it does have a slight miss at idle. However, the vehicle drives amazing. I personally drove it from California to Texas when I imported it from Japan and have had zero issues with the vehicle.

Vehicle is listed as an auction type bid with a very low reserve. A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is due immediately. We will contact you once we receive confirmation that a $500 non-refundable deposit was accepted. The remainder is due within 7 days. If no contact is made within 24 hours we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell it otherwise. Most banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles older than 1995 or with more than 100K miles. Make sure if financing that your financial institution accepts the year and miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange financing prior to bidding. JJ Best is a bank we have used in the past which does offer financing for classic vehicles (25 years old and greater).

Shipping
I am willing to ship the vehicle at buyers expense. We have shipped vehicles using uShip in the past and they have ranged from approximately $450-$750 (not a firm quote from me, if interested i can get you a quote) from Texas to either coast. We have also shipped vehicles over seas and the shipping ranges from $1500-$5000 per vehicle (not a firm quote from me, if interested i can get you a quote), plus duty fees responsible by the buyer.
