1966 Jaguar Other XJ13 Lemans sport Description

1966 Jaguar XJ13

I am selling a 1966 Jaguar XJ13 with a Jaguar well-built performance V12 engine (P453008, C2588) attached to a Porsche G5020 6 speed manual transaxle (#9643013011R). Very few reproductions of the XJ13 exist and very rarely do they come up for sale. This one is a high end replica that sounds, and runs like the original. Although the car has not been on a track, and I don't know the top speed, butit had a lot of room to grow after the 140mph mark. The original XJ13 is located in the Jaguar museum in England (the only original one in existence).

Few XJ13’s were made in England by Proteus. A couple of XJ13's are located in Australia and few were made here in the US. One of the Australian cars was on sale last year with an asking price close to 1.3 million US dollars. A quick internet search shows a couple of Proteus XJ13's made in the 90's to have been up for sale in Europe for around 300 to 400K. Currently there is no company making any more XJ13's anywhere in the world. Recorded recent sales range from 200k - 500k

This beautiful example is built around a Lola style aluminum and billet race car chassis superstructure. It has enough room for a tall person like myself to fit in the cockpit. Everything is new as it was built. The car is incredibly light weight and fast.

The wheels are double laced spoke wires with knock off independent axels and race suspension. This car is a very sound high speed build with a fiberglass panels over aluminum superstructure, not like the cheap homebuilt versions floating around with steel tube frames and one piece flimsy bodies. Each panel is held on with race body panel fittings to an aluminum underbody, and the complete rear structure of the car can be opened for engine bay access. Every time I look at the car, the excellence in engineering comes out. There was a xj13 that ran through an auction in Pasadena for over $200k a couple of years ago, I was able to give that car a good looking over as I was interested in a purchase while it was in the lot, the car for sale here is way better in every aspect. I also have a twin turbo V12 custom dry sump race motor that will also be available for the car under separate sale.

This car was assembled a couple of years ago. It has never been registered or titled. It will be sold with a Bill of Sale. It is completely brand new in every aspect. It was constructed so that it would meet all regulations to be street legal in most or all states in the US.

This is a dream car… Mid-engine performance V12 with a six speed transmission on a race chassis. There is a BBC documentary that was on TV about the XJ13, it’s a must see. That British car show episode was presenting the history of the jaguar XJ13. You should watch it on YouTube if you have not watched it already.

I will post a video on YouTube and I will add the link to this eBay ad showing this car revving.

The car is located in Southern California. It is available for inspection. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please do not ask what I want for the car, but fair offers will be considered. Thank you for bidding.
