Motorcartrader.com is proud to offer this spectacular 1965 Jaguar E-type Roadster. This great Jaguar E-type was built on September 4th of 1964 and dispatched on October 7th of 1964. This matching number car was originally sold to Dr. Althouse on December 12th of 1964 of Omaha, NE from Kumpf Motor Imports in Denver CO. As we understand, the first owner had this car for about a year or 500 miles and then sold it to the second owner Dr. Parish. The second owner had this car from 1965 to October of 2014. He had the car commissioned for a full ground up and meticulous restoration at around 53,000 miles by a Pebble Beach award winning restoration shop. The goal was to make one of the best E-type Roadster possible to show and win the JCNA Concour class. It was finished in the classic Color combination of British Racing Green with biscuit Connolly leather interior. The initial restoration cost $217,994.10 and we do have the invoices of all the work completed. In addition, photo documentation of this restoration where everything on this car was restored or rebuilt to JCNA concours specifications. The car was shown after it was completed in 2003 and shown from 2003 to 2007. It was barely driven at all during this time by the second owner who was also a president of the Carolina Jaguar Club. It earned very impressive accolades, scores, awards and 100 point judging. Below is the list of JCNA (Jaguar Club of North America) C5/E1 (Champion Division is the most demanding JCNA Concours Division) scores this car achieved:
Included with this car are the $266,648.44 of invoices invested into this car since 2003 to make it one of the finest Jaguar E-type Roadsters and a great driving car as well. A matching color British Racing Green, newly restored Hardtop with interior matching wool headliner is included as well. Also, we do have the original books, jaguar pouch, original jack, and original tool kit. In addition, the air cleaner is signed by Sir Norman Dewis when he selected this car for the “Norman Dewis Award” in 2011. Sir Norman Dewis is the famed head test driver and engineer who helped develop the XK120, 140, 150, C and D type as well as the E-type. Mr. Dewis drove the first new 1961 Jaguar E-type to the Paris auto show. In addition to being an exceptional show car, this E-type runs and drives perfect. It has great oil pressure and compression. The car shifts great and is very tight to drive. An upgraded aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan were installed as well during the “driving” portion of the restoration as this car was in the warm NC climate when it was driven. The car stays very cool and comfortable. There is absolutely no rust on this car and the underside is painted the same dark British Racing Green as the exterior of the car. There is no undercoating on this car. The paint, chrome, seals, underside, exhaust, porcelain manifolds, top, engine compartment, the frame rails, underside, chrome wire wheels, interior etc. are all in stunning condition. This is certainly one of the finest Jaguar E-types available on the market today. It has great ownership history, along with a comprehensive and documented restoration. Furthermore, has been Concours judged and continually achieved at or close to 100 point scores. These Jaguar E-types are very hard to find with this type of provenance. This is a true investment grade vehicle which will be an excellent centerpiece or start to any collection.
