1967 Jaguar Mk2 Leather Description

Here for your consideration is a rust free California car that can be enjoyed 'as is' or improved to suit one's individual taste.. I'd describe it as a presentable 'driver quality' car rather than a 'show car'..It could be used for renting to film companies etc.. but I would not consider it an everyday driver without a major service due to little use for the past decade...regardless its a 51 yr old car. The car runs and drives, starts right up hot or cold, engine pulls strongly and sounds as it should, shows correct oil pressure, no unusual noises or excess smoke etc..clutch is sound with plenty of pedal travel, shifts though the 'all synchromesh' gears smoothly, steers straight and brakes work well, including the parking brake.. its has little use over the past decade and was in long term ownership (I believe from new) of one family before I acquired it. All evidence points to the car being well maintained and cared for, but I do not have any documented history of the car. Clearly, it had a major 'freshen up' some years back (probably 15-20 years ago) with a change of body color from its original 'honey beige' to what appears to be a close match of Jaguar 'opalescent maroon' ..the interior was re-done at the same time in a non standard diamond pattern on seats (which seem to be more supportive and hence more comfortable than stock pattern seats) and door cards..all of which is leather. all panel gaps are excellent. The headllner was also replaced with black cloth. there are a few mechanical upgrades..an alternator replaced the original generator..( looks to be the conversion as sold by 'XKs unlimited'.. still has the power steering pump driven from alternator) and the exhaust system upgraded to a stainless steel system..tires appaper to be close to new..but are not the original size ( 185x15) but wider and lower profile 205/65 x 15 and the wheels are chrome plated. There are numerous chips and scratches and other imperfections in the paint and the chromework is far from perfect.. but the car does look presentable overall ..best of all there is NO corrosion or evidence of accidents on the car that I can find anywhere..and all panels appear to be original.. has its original keys ..jack is present ..but the tool kit and drivers handbook are missing. Its always resided in Ca and was sold new here ( has the 'J/67 ' 'model year' tag that was unique to cars sold in Ca on the hood closing panel) not many of these around anymore.. this is also a stick shift car (most exported to USA came with auto trans) but as was common on the US market '67 3.4, it has no overdrive..and was supplied with the stock 3.54 ratio diff as per auto trans cars .. I don't know for sure, but doubt it has the 'powr-lok' diff option that was stock on the 3.8 litre model.Ive been asked what it would need to be show quality:- things such as body rubber seals are all old and probably original..wood would need re-finishing.. correct pattern upholstery on seats, paint color wont match original build specs if one obtained a 'heritage certificate' etc etc...paint is old in any case, but is 'presentable' and shines well .. its mostly smaller details rather than anything major..This car would be a good basis for straightforward 'no hidden horrors' restoration due to the fact its rock solid, has excellent panel fit and is mostly original and unmessed with so far... the only 'non stock' items are cosmetics, exhaust system, conversion to alternator and oversized tires.I'll likely be travelling most of next week or so, so unlikely to be able to answer questions quickly.. i'd recommend serious buyers make an appointment to view if unsure about anything.. description and images should speak for themselves. Check my feedback if in any doubts about accuracy of description.... I need the space and its priced for a no nonsense sale.. doubtable you'll find another rust free usable example as sound as this anywhere for this price.. also may be advertised elsewhere... be aware that I don't have much patience with fools or scammers.. if you are seeking one of these and know what to look for.. this car will not disappoint.I can help your shipper load the car of required. my phone for serious enquires is :- 530 913 4920.. pacific coast time between 8am and 8pm.
