1987 Jaguar XJ12 TWR XJ12 TWR Description

European Motor Studio is very excited to offer this incredibly rare and unusual 1987 Jaguar XJ12 Series III Tom Walkinshaw Racing Sport. Draped in Nimbus White over Biscuit leather and having covered a mere 41,120 miles from new, this TWR Sport XJ12 is highly original and an incredibly rare find. Tom Walkinshaw teamed up with Jaguar in the early 1980's and modified an XJS which took a 1st place victory in the European Touring Car Championship in 1984. A huge win for the Jaguar team at Le Mans in 1988 prompted the company to produce a road going special edition TWR version of the XJS. TWR then made a believed 30 or so TWR XJ12 Sedans which were all for the European market. Manufactured on October 1st, 1986 and distributed through Jaguar Deutschland, Frankfurt Germany, this 1987 example was purchased new by pro golfer John Woodhall who then imported the car into the states. The car lived in Scottsdale Arizona and southern CA all of its life. The Nimbus White paint is largely original and is very nice shape. There is some very lite checking on the roof and a few small stone chips in the front nose and lower bumper skirt but otherwise still retains a beautiful shine. The interior is all original and in beautiful condition. The leather is very soft to the touch with only minimal creasing to the drive seat bolster. All of the carpets and the headliner are in excellent original condition and the dash is free from any cracks or shrinkage. The wood is in beautiful condition free from any damage or cracks in the finish. The TWR tuned, mighty 5.3 liter V12 engine is a euro spec build pushing out more than 300hp. It starts right up and free from any smoking. The engine pulls beautifully through all of the gears with outstanding smooth power. A full service has just been performed including new plugs and wires, fluids, filters, a new transmission mount and a new power steering hose. About 500 miles ago, new rear pads and rotors, rebuilt calipers and new brake hoses, new subframe mounts. The AC was converted to 134 and a new receiver dryer replaced. All of the electronics in the car are functioning as designed including all the power windows and door locks, the AC is ice cold and the heater is very hot, the power sunroof and mirrors are functioning as well as the power antenna. All of the gauges are operating and appear to be reading correctly. All of the interior and exterior lights are functioning as designed. This is an incredible opportunity to acquire what is believed to be one of one or two in the United States and one of only 30 TWR XJ12 sedans ever made. There is absolutely no rust found anywhere in the body of this car or in the undercarriage. This very special TWR Sport comes with its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and a few receipts of past work done.
