1963 Jaguar E-Type Description

1963 Jaguar E-Type 3.8-liter FHC Coupe Body Shell - WITH Identity
This is a 1963 Jaguar E-Type Fixed-Head Coupe body shell that includes the complete identity of the original car itself. This includes the original front picture frame with the original chassis number stamping, the original Data Plate, and the original Body # ID tag. This body shell also comes with a clear US Title with the same chassis number, as well as a Bill of Sale from Monocoque Metalworks.
The original build date of this E-Type was May of 1963. Original Exterior color was red. For privacy, I have hidden the last 2 digits of the chassis number, but this is a standard 6-digit 3.8-liter FHC chassis number, which matches between the main picture frame, data plate, and title.
We recently acquired this E-Type body shell that unfortunately was parted out a long time ago (not by us!). What you see is what you get - this is ALL that we have of this car. It would make a great basis to build up an FIA eligible vintage racer - or lightweight or low-drag project - or as the basis for a build of an original E-Type Jaguar for which you might not have a body shell and/or identity - or as a start to a "restomod" - or as a start to an electric E-Type - the sky is the limit!
The body shell itself has the typical E-Type rust in the floors, sills, and boot floor, but the panels beyond that are in very good condition and it is in much better shape than many of the E-Type shells that we restore here. Areas like the forward bulkhead, firewall, tunnel, inner rear wings, B-posts, rear bulkhead and chassis legs, etc. are actually in very good restorable condition. The roof panel is damaged - I believe that this is more likely “junkyard damage” rather than a rollover accident (I think something was placed/thrown on top of it...) - as the rest of the shell seems to be in good, straight condition. The roof can be repaired in the hands of a skilled panel beater (we have smoothed out much worse here in the past - it just takes patience and time…) or for an additional cost, we can include a good original roof section from another E-Type.
The buyer is entitled to a 20% discount on any new panels purchased from Monocoque Metalworks for the restoration of this body shell, and they can be shipped with the body shell to avoid shipping costs and import fees, etc.
This is a very good start for a restored Series 1 coupe body shell, despite the roof damage. We DO have most of the original components that would be required to build this up into a complete E-Type project, but also have many other E-Type projects that are owned by the business (too many!), and so to make some space and trim things down a bit, we are letting this body shell go as-is. If interested, we would be able to supply some or all of the additional components needed at an additional cost.

The cart shown IS included with the purchase! The cart was built by us specifically to make this body shell easier to transport, and is sturdy and very easy to move. It is also solidly attached to the body shell itself at chassis suspension points, and can be used to strap the body shell down safely to a trailer or shipping container with no worries.
Shipping - This E-Type is owned by Monocoque Metalworks and is located at our shop in the state of Maryland, USA. We have worked with Schumacher Logistics in the past (as well as several others…) to ship cars to the UK, Europe, and Australia with good results, and I am sure that they could work this out for you. We have sold many E-Types over the years, and are familiar with the process of shipping them overseas. We can help you find a shipper - and safe transport to the docks in Elizabeth, NJ is available in an insured, enclosed trailer by me personally for an additional fee.
