1979 Jeep CJ7 Renegade low mile survivor tuff puff
1979 Jeep CJ Description
For your consideration is the jeep I've always dreamed of. This is a 3 owner, 51,000 mile, factory Renegade model.. with the most deaireable drivetrain ever offered in a jeep.. 304 V8, with a manual 4 speed transmission with super low granny 1st gear. I believe the transmission is a T-18.
I bought it from the second owner who was in his 60's. He bought it from a friend. The jeep spent most of its life in Craig Colorado and was cherished by both the previous owners.. and it shows. All original body and paint work. I had the factory decals re-newed professionally. The paint does show some patina, but overall still looks great.
I just had the seats recovered had the shop re-use the original buttons and match the stitch as closely as possible. The material is a sunbrella material that is used in marine upholstery. It looks great... and very close to original. Note, some pics show tears on the back seat.. this pic was taken before the seats were done this August. A custom blue loop carpet kit was also installed. Lots of different tones of blue. Love it.
The jeep currently runs and drives excellent with a recent carb rebuild, new radiator, and other recent tune up parts installed. As well as an entire new exhaust system. This model came factory with power steering and power brakes. The renegade package also sports a tach, clock (replaced and working), and the decal striping. It comes with its original hard tip in good shape.
The only thing mechanically that I know it needs, is a front brake job. I have bought all the related parts and they are included. The brakes still work just fine..
Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. This is a very rare Jeep that I am sad to part with.. absolutely love everything about it.
The best way to know what you're buying is to come look at it. I can accommodate you in doing so in any way possible, including driving it out to the airport, if you wish to fly in and look. It is located in Murray, Utah which is a suburb of Salt Lake City.
