1986 Jeep Wagoneer Description

1986

Jeep 4x4

Grand Wagoneer

VIN: 1JCNJ15U5GT203008

I’m often asked where we find these clean, unique vehicles. One of my best friends cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, the V.F.W. Hall and the back streets of a well-known Scandinavian neighborhood here in north Seattle. He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a door a mile away… He’ll notice when a nice old car or truck is driving with a turn signal on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when a vehicle with metal bumpers passes by! If you’re in the market for a great running & driving vintage SUV, please give this clean Grand Wagoneer your kind attention. Feel free to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay auction listing. My name is Mark and you can reach me directly by phone or text at 206/914-1173.

CONDITION:

The photos really tell the Grand Wagoneer’s story. It has spent most of it’s life here in the Great Pacific Northwest driving our salt-free western Washington roads. From the photos you’ll see the rig has obviously been well cared for over the years. We’ve found absolutely NO evidence of any accidents, storm damage, insurance salvage, theft recovery, repossession or any other nasty negatives to cause you concern as the next caretaker!

I take pride in our vehicles and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here’s a list of the good and any small things possibly needing attention: The four-wheel drive system appears to work just as it should. With a flip of a switch the drive train goes to full 4x4 mode, so most of the time you’ll be in 2WD and not wearing out the strong Dana front axle components during summertime highway use. The overall exterior is in very good condition. This rig wears the original factory color off-white paint and has had one good quality re-spray. Rust? Well, this classic Jeep HATES rust and you’d be hard pressed to find ANYTHING here to worry about! Because we rarely get snow in the Puget Sound Basin, our winter roads are never salted. The engine compartment is clean. Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling!

One turn of the key and the strong 360 CID V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal. There’s a nice, throaty rumble to by the exhaust. The three-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, just like it should, with NO slippage. Of course, there’s a tilt steering column, power steering, brakes and windows (all work except the passengers-side rear). I believe every Grand Wagoneer came with power front disk brakes in 1986 and these stop just fine with no pulling or binding. All four stock alloy wheels are wrapped with good tires each with plenty of remaining tread. It really is fun to drive anywhere you’d wish to go and you’re guaranteed to get a “thumbs up” every time!

Please take another look at the interior shots. The upholstery is new on the both front buckets. Headliners are almost always an issue on these rigs. You’ll be very impressed by the new custom-installed one here - NO sagging or warped liner board ever again! Fresh factory-style carpet has been added front, back and on the tailgate. Even the rear side board carpet/upholstery is new. All the door panels have stood the test of time and are in decent condition as pictured. You’ll be quite impressed with the dash gauges; they seem as clear and bright as new. All the glass is great including the windshield. The only negatives we’ve encountered are the electric mirrors don’t respond (they are manually adjustable), the radio is quite finicky, work will be needed to make the A/C functional (we’re not sure what that will entail, though everything appears complete) and the tailgate glass has a bad switch or wire. The electric motor in the tailgate is good. Our mechanic installed a set of leads that allows the glass to be raised or lowered using a power source. That’s about it!
If you’re thinking of bidding on a comparable Chevy Suburban or Ford Bronco of similar vintage, you really owe it to yourself to drive and look this Grand Wagoneer over first!

PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a classic from a respected Ebay seller. I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that’s the main goal! Please don’t be upset by a missed flaw or some unforeseen problem! No vintage used car or truck is ever perfect. Having said this, I would not hesitate to drive this SUV long distance immediately.

Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call, text or email before placing a bid. If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. As I’ve outlined above, the phone number to talk directly to me is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK. You’re welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn, WA warehouse to inspect & drive the Grand Wagoneer. You might also make an offer as many of my vehicles sell to smart “early birds” that contact me and work out a deal prior to the auction’s end. I always reserve the right to sell during this period.

A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:

A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s conclusion. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me. I can accept bank cards, but I’ll first need to send an invoice and would ask that you cover the 3.5% fee our processor charges. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the Jeep later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.

If you decide to have theGrand Wagoneer transported, there are scores of companies to choose from. I ship vehicles regularly and suggest that you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're EBay’s preferred carrier and will give you a fair quote. Call them directly at (888) 817-6203. Give the sales rep my affiliate number (2362642) and they can pull up all our information for station-to-station or even door-to-door quotes.

For our bidders in Washington, Oregon and California we have a great local transport company that regularly (and economically) delivers our vehicles up and down the west coast. It’s almost less expensive than airfare, food and fuel from here to Los Angeles. No worries then about a flat tire repair on the freeway either!

As another alternative, you might also get bids from the U-Ship website. You’ll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers. The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, Washington). The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER.

TheJeep can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day. The vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. All information described above is based on the observed condition when thelisting was placed. I've done my very best to describe the Grand Wagoneer as honestly as possible and encourage bidders to contact me with questions.
