1986 Jeep CJ Description

Jeeps just don't stay very long in our showroom, and this 1986 Jeep CJ7 dressed in silver will probably the latest to only cast a brief shadow here. It's got all the right hardware and a classic look, perfect for blasting through your favorite trails and having fun in the sun.The bright silver paint on this Jeep is pretty darned nice overall, so nice that if you like your stuff so be really shiny you'll be happy, but you'll also be afraid to take it into the mud. That would be a shame, because that's where it really works best, but we'll get to the hardware in a moment. Taking a Jeep apart to paint it is relatively easy, so there's silver paint everywhere you look, and some very subtle ghost flames were added up front, although they're pretty ghostly so our camera can't quite capture them. There's a set of custom bumpers, a big Warn winch up front, oversized rubber fender flares, and heavy-duty steps that are probably mandatory on a lifted 4x4 like this. A heavy-duty spare tire carrier holds a fifth full-sized spare for both practical reasons and because it looks awesome, and there are chrome brush guards over the, headlights, parking lights, and LED taillights, which probably isn't a bad idea.Jeep interiors work because they're simple, just like the Jeeps themselves. With fresh BestTop seat covers on the bucket seats, it's plenty comfortable to hang out here for a few hours. There's also a back seat, so you can take a few friends with you, too, making the CJ relatively practical, even today. The seat covers are made of a fairly plush-feeling vinyl, so they don't have that sticky feeling that the original seat covers got, but it's still hose-it-off easy to maintain. That goes double for the floors, which are covered in spray-on bedliner material that just never wears out and provides for easy clean-up after a day of fun. Original gauges are assisted by a white-faced Sunpro tach on the steering column and Auto Meter voltage and oil pressure gauges mounted low in the dash. A JVC AM/FM/CD stereo system keeps you company and plays the music when you're in your favorite remote place, and a locking center console keeps your gear safe out on the trails. There's also a matching black hardtop and steel doors, so it does seal up well enough to drive every day, if that's your thing.Jeep's durable, torquey 4.2 liter inline-six is a favorite powerplant among 4x4 aficionados, offering a good balance between power and efficiency. With proper gearing, these Jeeps don't actually need a ton of horsepower to do some pretty impressive climbing, but things like the K&N air filter and tubular exhaust header certainly can't hurt. The engine bay is so clean that it'll be hard to imagine that it's ever been off-roading, and even with the heavy-duty suspension, it's easy to manage with both power steering and power brakes as standard equipment. The suspension offers a modest lift and heavy-duty off-road shocks so it's ready to play, and the underside is clean enough that you won't have any worries about structural integrity while you're playing rough. Of course, you also get a 4-speed manual transmission, which is the preferred choice of off-roading enthusiasts everywhere. Custom aluminum wheels are the right choice and carry big 33x12.50-15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain off-road radials. This is only the latest in a long string of Jeeps that find enthusiastic new owners pretty quickly, so if you're that guy, don't hesitate and call us now!
