1966 Jeep Custom Description
For some people, this is the perfect Jeep. It's a 1965 Kaiser Jeep (that's what the title says), and it has 1965 running gear, but it has an excellentoriginal 1954 Willys M38A1 body mounted!
Original 1965 running gear: 225 Kaiser Oddfire V6, larger 11" drum brakes, T86 3-speed transmission with the helical gears (quieter than straight cut T90), single stick Dana 18 Transfer Case, heavier duty steering box, dualexhaust, Dana 20 and Dana 44 axles, plus an original Ramsey winch hooked up to the power takeoff.
There's a new Weber carburetor, new dual master cylinder, new brake shoes all around, Pertronix optical trigger, new dual exhaust, rebuilt transfer case, rebuild steering box with a Tite-steer installed. Receipts included.
The body is a stock 1954 M38A1. The mounting holes from the 50 caliber gun are still in the floor. The new winter top, side curtains, and doors are 3 months old. Since thebattery box wasn't needed, there's a Vintage Air heater inside.
New12V electric wipers installed, modern fuse box tucked away in the glovebox.
4 great condition military tires included; there are new radial street tires on it now fordrivability.
Drive it anywhere.Around town - no problem. Take a trip; 65MPH on the highway - no problem. Off road - no problem (if you do, RustoleumCamouflagepaint is a perfect match for easy touch ups!).
