1981 Jeep CJ7 Laredo Description

1981 CJ7 Laredo. 135k mile strong running 258 CID engine!
This CJ7 was born and raised in northern California. Given the climate, this body/tub and frame are about as solid as they come. As you can tell from some of the photos, there is minimal surface rust on the floors, but that's as far as the rust goes! Tub is very clean under all feet of roll bar pad, which is a typical place for rust to accumulate. Again, no real pitting or anything like that. If you're looking for good bones, this Jeep is it! Look at some of the "polished turds" you'll find here on ebay. Plenty of shiny Jeeps that sell for $12/13k and they're rust buckets, but "look" nice. This Jeep is incredibly solid, very straight, and the body is outstanding given its age (1 small dent on passenger side rear quarter panel). Please consider what you're buying and I hope you see the value in this original rust-free Laredo.
Desirable California serpentine belt system. This Jeep starts up very easily, even when cold. Drives perfectly with none of the traditional "steering wonder" many of the modified older CJs have. 4WD engages as it should, and the gauges all work. Hard top and doors are in very nice condition (one of the photos makes it look like the rear glass of the hard top is shattered, but its just the reflection of the insulation on the airplane hanger roll-up door). All smog equipment is in the vehicle, and it appears to run very clean...and good!
If I bought the Jeep, here's what I would do; I'd buy some Goodyear Wrangler radials from Walmart (same tire that came on the Jeep and only $72/ea) and replace the body mounts so it sits perfectly flush on the frame. Either keep the Jeep as-is, or put a little bit of money in to it and make it incredibly nice.
Vehicle is located in my buddy's airplane hanger in Calusa, CA (about 1 hour north of Sacramento). Come and pick it up. It's a great Jeep and won't disappoint. If you have any questions about the Jeep, feel free to give me a call or shoot me a text message. 520-789-0875. Thanks for looking!!
