1983 Jeep CJ RENEGADE Description

Up for Sale is my 1983 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade & Matching Jeep Trailer which I have built from the ground up. This is a TOTAL frame off rebuild. It started out as a RUST FREE Southern Jeep from Georgia and I have numerous pictures of it before – during - and after the build process to prove it’s condition. Let me 1st start by saying there has been extensive work done inside and out & to the drive train. I'm sure I will forget to mention some of it in the listing. For those out there that helped me acquire the NOS pieces & parts over the years for this Jeep - My Sincere - Thank You - and Especially to George Yezman - known to me as "George the Jeep Guy" from J&G Classic Jeeps in Michigan without whom this build would NEVER have been possible - Thank you my friend. He also knows and understands just how hard parting with this Jeep is for me

As George would contest I am very very picky about only using NOS pieces and parts. We went round and round over the years and I can honestly say this Jeep is AS JEEP as it could possibly be. The NOS Tach I had had to be changed out for one that had a better range for the motor I had built and I decided to match the Tach with the Pro Comp Autometer matching gauges & Clock for a more uniform look on the dash. Other than that I guarantee if it could be bought as NOS over aftermarket it was.

Virtually Every bolt on this Jeep came out / off without effort. Body bolts ALL came out like the Jeep had been built yesterday. Any brackets, supports, that came off of this Jeep were bead blasted and then powder coated to protect them forever. Nothing was skipped and No expense was spared in this build.

1983 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade 375 Miles since rebuild – Yes - it is a True Renegade comes with Original RUST FREE Hard Top Doors painted to match Jeep and both Bestop Softop and original Hardtop which both use the original full doors. Hardtop has been sitting outside for many years as I Never use it. Just kept it with Jeep.

Notes of INTEREST & CONCERN:


1. Motor is still in it’s break in period – Has NOT been run hard or abused. Will require some more tender loving care before really getting on itEngine has BRAD PENN 30W mono-grade oil formulated specifically to meet the critical lubrication needs of new engines during break-in while allowing proper seating of rings and component run-in. Enhanced levels of zinc (zinc dialkyldithiophosphate also known as ZDDP) and superior oil film strength from Penn Grade base oils offer complete anti-wear, anti-scuffing protection for even the most demanding of applications such as those presented by break-in of engines with flat tappet cams.

2. For those of you unaware of the T-18 Granny Low 1st gear – It doesn’t matter if you barely touch the gas or if you have it to the floor – it will NOT go any faster in that gear. It’s for CRAWLING not doing burnouts

3. 2nd Gear can occasionally be a bit stubborn to shift into – not always but wanted to mention it. – simple adjustment but I haven’t had time to mess with it

4. Stereo is a New Kenwood AM/FM/CD but will need to be wired up. It is mounted in the center console but again will need to be wired up and speakers purchased. I have the Roll bar mounted speaker boxes which will come with the Jeep.

5. LED Light bar you see mounted on Hood in a couple of the 1st pictures is No longer on the Jeep – It was just mounted to see how it looked vice being mounted on the Rollbar. I decided to remove it and it is NOT INCLUDED

6. Comes with a New Custom set of Renegade decals from Phoenix Graphics – George worked with them to get them 100% accurately re manufactured. These are the 3 layer decals not the screen printed ones they now make.

7. Off Road Lights mounted to the Bumper are also NOT INCLUDED

10.SHIPPING – Please inquire with a shipping company about cost PRIOR to bidding. It's obviously NOT FREE and will cost some $$$. Shipping will be arranged BY the Buyer at the BUYERS EXPENSE and is the strictly the responsibility of the BUYER. I will assist as I can. I live out in the country and a semi can easily access my road for Pick up. I will assist as I can. I won’t deliver it to a trucking company – Once it’s loaded and and on it's way the Jeep & parts inside it are no longer my responsibility if it get damaged once it leaves my possession it's between you and the shipping company. LASTLY - The JEEP WILL NOT go anywhere until payment clears my bank (CERTIFIED CASHIERS CHECK or CASH is in hand). Don't expect to hand me a Cashiers check and drive away - NOT HAPPENING.
