1968 Jeep Commando Jeepster Description

Here's a solid Jeepster Commando Station Wagon that needs restoration. Automatic transmission. 4 wheel drive. Locking hubs. Removable hard top. Original seats and center console. Dash pad is near-perfect. Surface rust on floors but overall good condition. Tailgate is nearly rust-free. Really good candidate for restoration.

Engine runs and idles, but possibly needs some carb work. The electrical (under dash and in engine bay) is also in need of some tlc--looks kinda pieced together. Most of the exterior lights work, but speedometer cluster has a lot of lights out. Manual choke probably needs replacement at best. I've replaced the fuel pump, all four brake cylinders, master cylinder, brake booster, spark plugs and ignition. Go to this link to see the engine running:https://youtu.be/EZcw6MxT4x0

I've had this for around seven months. Apparently it sat for quite a few years before. Odometer reads just over 66K. I have not had this on the road. The brakes are working, but not great. Since just about everything has been replaced, I suspect just need a good bleeding and/or adjustment. Because of the brakes, I cannot guarantee the condition of the transmission/transfer case. I'm pretty sure the 4-wheel drive works, from what I remember when I first got it. This is a project that is not road ready, and it will need to be towed/shipped.

Rocker panels have rust holes, and there is some rust on the top, but most of the body is very solid, making it a good builder. Original seats will need covers. I am in the greater Seattle area. The Jeepster is being sold "as is" with no warranties. Because this Jeep is being sold locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
