1991 Jeep Cherokee Briarwood 115,000 miles
1991 Jeep Cherokee Briarwood Description
For auction is an outstanding example of a rare 1991 Jeep Cherokee Briarwood. Jeep production of the 1991 Cherokee was just over 150,000 and a very small number were produced as a Briarwood, similar to the 91 Wagoneer, which included exterior wood and an upgraded interior and luxury options. This certainly is one of finest existing Briarwoods and I hope it goes to a Jeep lover who will upgrade and maintain the vehicle. With just 115,000 miles, the Briarwood is barely broke in!
This Briarwood is rust free, having spent 1992-2016 in Arizona and later Washington state. I have service records on this vehicle from 2006. Maintenance has included: valve cover gaskets, cooling system and new radiator, transmission flush, fuel injection, belts, hoses, stabilizer shocks, swaybar, rear main seal, parking brake, front u-joints. It starts easily, drives straight, and shifts smoothly. I have taken the Briarwood on several lengthy trips over the last 2 years without incident. It is truly a time capsule that turns heads everywhere.
The Briarwood has the highly desirable 4.0 (inline V-6) Power Tech High Output engine. It has plenty of pep and leaks no oil. The 4x4 system is the top of the line Selec-Trac system, permitting 2WD and Part-Time 4WD, along with 4 high and 4 low four-wheel drive. The 4WD system functions properly.
There is no rust on the vehicle. The chrome has no defects or pitting. Tires are in good condition. This is a a drive-anywhere vehicle. Power windows and door locks, power seats, power mirrors, and gauges all work. The vehicle has a power antenna and the original radio, which all work properly. The vehicle has a tow hitch and a 4-flat electrical pin. The interior is in outstanding shape. The leather seats, dash, and door panels have no rips or scuffs. The carpet is clean with no stains. Vehicle has original and clean Jeep floor mats. The headliner has been replaced and is excellent. The visors (which include a lighted mirror) are in good condition, but were not recovered when the headliner was done. The Briarwood has fog lights which work well at night, delay wipers, and a functional rear wiper. This 91 even came equipped with an alarm, which still functions.
The cruise control and overhead console (compass/temperature) do not work. The AC has not been converted to R-134, but the compressor blows. Heater is outstanding. The wheels are in good, but not great shape due to some pitting. The are very slight scratches to the paint on (1) rear fender flare and (1) front fender flare. The vinyl wood on the fuel fill cover has deteriorated over the years and would benefit by being re-covered. There is a very small chip in the windshield on the passenger side (low). The purchaser must be able to complete the sale for full purchase price with a verifiable bank check within 7 days of the close of the auction. The vehicle and a title will not be released until funds have cleared. I can keep the Briarwood in a garage until the vehicle is picked up. Please text me at 309-337-9167 with any questions prior to bidding. The vehicle is available locally, so the auction will end if the vehicle sells in advance.
