1979 Jeep J20 P/S, P/B, P/W, P/L Description
This truck is a real head turner, not your same old Ford, Chevy, Dodge, not that there is anything wrong with those brands, but you won't pass two of these in the same year. It is probably one of the rarest Jeeps currently on ebay. I am not a dealer, I am not a Jeep expert by any means, but I will answer all questions as honestly as I am able or I will tell you that I do not know. I have been told that it has a Dana 44 front diff and Dana 60 full floating rear, all 8 lug. The truck is beautiful, I get compliments everywhere it goes. It has power steering and power brakes, steers really nice and stops very well, disc in front drum in rear. The interior is original, it has not been hacked up, it comes with the original AM, FM, CB radio. The wheels are brand new, I just installed them last week, I wanted to try to stay period correct, the wheels are US Wheel and I used long chrome lug nuts as I would have back in the early 80's. The bed is in excellent condition, it is Rhino lined and I don't think anything has been in the back since. The paint is about 15 years old, original color, but it is now base/clear. The truck has not been "restored" but it has a lot of new parts installed such as radiator, master cylinder, brake booster, fuel pump, carb rebuild, etc, etc. I do want to say that this truck is not a 100 point show truck by any means, but it is a beautiful driver that I would be proud to take anywhere. As with any 40 year old truck, it needs little odds and ends, but nothing major or costly, I am currently looking for a piece of interior trim... that kind of stuff. As you can see in the pics, the hood is painted black in the center and there is about a 4 inch wide black stripe along the sides, there is also some pinstriping, all very tastefully done. The truck shines up nice, it looks better in person than in the pics. The engine runs very nice, starts immediately, runs quiet, it is a 360 CI 2 barrel carb motor. The transmission shifts without any issues and the clutch is strong. My friends refer to it as a "pavement princess", I won't even take it for a ride if it looks like its going to rain. There are stainless steel visors on both doors, wing windows for "air conditioning". All glass is in excellent condition, it is even equipped with a sliding rear window. Split bench seat with fold down center arm rest. I am happy to answer any and all questions concerning the truck to the best of my ability. I do not need to sell it, I do not need the money so please don't email me making me insulting offers. I feel my reserve is actually low, or so I have been told by others that are more familiar with these kind of things. I may be able to assist in the delivery of the truck for additional fee, depending on where it is going to live next, feel free to discuss. I am easy going and very flexible to options. I am retired so I have time to work with the buyer. It is and always has been garage kept for as long as I know.

I welcome and actually encourage and interested party to come and inspect the truck, lets go for a ride and you can get the real feel of it. The power steering works well, the truck does not wander even with the 33X12.5 R 16.5 tires on it. It is a pleasure to drive and a lot of fun. The frame is not detailed nor is the engine bay, it is all original and clean for what it is. Like I said before, it is not a show truck with mirrors under it, showing off pristine frame rails, it is a super nice driver, not something that sits in a garage afraid of getting a stone chip on the transmission mount. It shows no signs of collision damage and it has a clean and clear title, not a salvage title as one person inquired.
Here is the story in a nutshell. The truck has been sitting in a garage for about 20 years. There was a death in the family and the truck got put on the back burner. The truck is a "re-barn find" I knew of it and eventually the opportunity came along for me to buy it. Unfortunately, my own son passed away a little over one week of me buying the truck. For many years, my son and I played with and built streetrods, muscle cars, custom trucks, and fast classics. I love this truck but honestly it hurts me to have it without my son. I want someone to own it who will use it and enjoy it.!!

NO DOUBT, the truck needs a bath under the hood, I am making arrangements for that to get done. I plan on just getting it cleaned up, keeping it original as I got it, I like an original look rather than somebody going crazy with a spray can trying to put perfume on a pig. That's not me. This is not a $75,000 truck. I think to the right guy, in my opinion it is worth over 20K, but my reserve is much lower than that. Again, I just want to add, that I encourage a personal visit and viewing of the truck so you can make up your own mind as to what you consider the condition to be. I think it is a very nice truck for what it is and for what I want for it. I appreciate you bidders that have asked questions, I just really need this truck to go to a good home, to someone who will drive it and enjoy it.!!
