1983 Jeep CJ Description

When we call a Jeep a go-anywhere machine, it doesn't just mean we like these 4x4s for the off road. That's why this 1983 Jeep CJ7 has such vibrant paint, a comfy interior, and upgraded V8 power. It's great for showing off in-town, too.
The Plum Crazy purple gives an attention-grabbing first impression. And there are some people who will give you a cool nod for having a classic Mopar color since Jeep went under Chrysler ownership later in life. The shine is particularly impressive, and so we imagine this may even glow in the dark a little! This big shine is also likely why they upgraded the shine on polished components, like the tubular front bumper, side steps, rockers, and side mirrors. Even the big 15-inch wheels add to this luster. There's a new black Bestop soft top and doors, and even those are part of a well-coordinated look with the fender flares.
We don't see many Jeep interiors done in gray, and so the color already makes it distinctive, and that's before you even spot all the upgrades. The seats have been covered in a durable and weather-resistant cloth. The front buckets are exceptionally comfortable with good bolstering, wide headrests, and a cup holder center consoles in-between. The rear also gets cup holders, and there are lockable storage consoles on each side. The dash looks nice as it combines the exterior purple, interior gray, and plenty of polish. This level of shine also continues on the shift knobs and grab bar to give this Jeep an element of flair.
AMC's big 360 cubic-inch V8 was never offered in the CJ7, but for a vehicle that was painted the vivid Plum Crazy, this seem like the exact right home for this kind of power upgrade. It even features a bored .030 over kit. The V8 inhales deeply with an Edelbrock 600 CFM four-barrel carburetor w/electric choke, and it exhales with authority as headers feed the dual exhaust. You get full control over it all with the five-speed manual transmission. And while this Jeep looks striking for on-road use, it's still a proper 4x4 with a two-speed transfer case, a lifted suspension, and Dick Cepek tires. Plus, the new suspension bushings, leaf springs, shocks, and steering stabilizer all deliver a confident feeling. And the power steering and front disc brakes are welcomed feature on the road or off the pavement.
