1977 Jeep CJ7 with a 302 V8 -- NO RESERVE!
1977 Jeep CJ Description
1977 Jeep CJ7. Condition is Used.
Bid with confidence. Check seller feedback.
We purchased this unique CJ7 in July 2018 as a project. We recently purchased a newer vehicle for our teenage son and we're out of physical space to store our vehicles, so my wife told me that the Jeep has to go :(
The 302 V8 conversion was done by the previous owner. Combined with the Holley 4 barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, headers, and throaty cherry bomb mufflers - this gives the Jeep a mean sound and more horsepower than it'll ever need. Previous owner sprayed the entire body, tub, and rock sliders with a protective coating, for lots of off-road fun without worrying about scratching any paint or fear of getting the inside wet.
Below, is a list of what I have done to the vehicle in the <2 years I have owned it, so you have an idea of the maintenance and state of the vehicle as it is currently:
- Replaced air cleaner/filter- Greased U-joints and steering points- Engine oil changed- Radiator flushed / filled- Replaced rear driveshaft U-joints- Removed passenger-side wheel well roll bar bolts - fabricated new metal bracket- Replaced emergency brake cable from pedal to actuator - replaced actuator, replaced clips on all cables, lubricated- Installed complete windshield wiper assembly - switch, motor, linkage, arms, etc- Replaced incorrect bolts in body mounts- Re-wrapped and re-routed and fixed wiring harness near drivers side exhaust / headers- Installed new tail lights / brake lights with LED lights, and new wiring - installed reverse light switch- Removed / replaced steering wheel column and steering wheel with Summit Racing steering column, wheel, horn- Chrome passenger grab bar installed- Turn signals and hazard lights installed and wired- New shifter knobs (custom grenade shifter knob)- Re-grounded all grounds, re-wired windshield wipers to fuse box- Speedometer wire installed, but speedometer isn't accurate- Installed Bimini top- Replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, custom ignition coil wire, cap and rotor- Replaced carburetor gasket- Replaced all vacuum port caps- Replaced upper and lower radiator hoses- Replaced thermostat, and gasket- Drained gas tank, cleaned fuel system- Rebuilt carburetor- Removed, cleaned, painted intake manifold and replaced and resealed intake manifold gasket- Installed new valve cover gaskets- Installed roll bar padding and cover- Installed fire extinguisher and custom extinguisher holder
All this is listed in a maintenance log that will be included with the Jeep for the new owner.
The vehicle has some rust holes that were present before the previous owner sprayed it with protective coating. The vehicle has been garage-kept for the past two years since we purchased it. The frame is solid. The engine is strong. While the vehicle stops and steers fine, future upgrades to the vehicle were going to be power brakes and power steering, for convenience. The vehicle has a small spring-over-shackles lift and 33'' tires, and is ready to take you anywhere down the road, or up the mountain. The Jeep is also equipped with an electric fuel pump and a rapid-cooling aluminum radiator with electric fans (fan switch located on dash). 3-speed manual transmission. 4-wheel drive.
