1967 Jeep CJ6 fire engine 6,307 original miles clear title
1967 Jeep CJ Description
Bidding on a two owner Jeep CJ6 with 6,307 original miles on the original 4 cylinder engine with 3 speed manual transmission with clean Ohio title. It was converted into a fire engine for fighting brush and field fires for a small volunteer fire dept in northern Ohio who owned it until November 2019 when I purchased it from them after being the highest bidder in a sealed bid auction. Well taken care of mechanically by the FD, was placed out of service in 2018 after being replaced, but not before they upgraded to 15 inch Pro Comp wheels with Super Swamper tires in 2016 (that probably have less than 100 miles on them). The original front drum brakes were also upgraded to disc brakes at the same time (original drums will be included in case buyer wants to restore it to original). Second set of 15 inch steel wheels with Bridgestone Dueller tires (from 2002) also included, as well as the original Goodyear spare tire. This is its original paint, and the bed area where the firefighting equipment is located does have lots of battle scars, but is in pretty good condition overall for being 53 years old and fighting most of its fires off road. Majority of rust is surface, there are a couple of minor rust spots on the rear near the tail lights and also below the passenger side seat on the exit area. The firefighting equipment still works but can easily be taken off as it is only bolted on. Engine starts effortlessly, thanks also to an on board trickle charger, but it has trouble staying running when driving, and probably needs to have its carburetor cleaned or rebuilt from lack of use. No other know mechanical issues at this time. No warning lights but does come with a working mechanical siren that can be activated by foot pedal on drivers side floor or button on dash. Payment required within 7 days and removal within 10 days or less. Jeep is located near Tampa, Florida and any transportation costs will be solely at buyers expense. I don’t offer transportation but I can recommend a reliable company whose service I’ve used three times (including this Jeep) and has been great. Any other questions or photo requests please don’t hesitate to contact me. Good luck and thanks for your interest!
