At a time when Levi's was shipping thousands of bell bottom pants to stores around the world, a licensing deal with Jeep came to fruition. A Jeep with Levi's branding makes sense as you can have tough fabric covered seats similar to actual Levi's denim for your top-down, off-roading adventures. We suggest you leave the bell bottoms in the attic, and take a close look at this unique and well kept Special Edition Jeep.
This Jeep, a California transplant, was owned by a doctor who kept it at his cabin. So it was only used when he was there. That explains the low original mileage and original paint and bodywork. Jeeps that are this nice, and highly original don't come around often. It's finished in the original paint in the color of Sunshine Yellow, which is really in great condition considering the age and originality. Paint is glossy throughout with just a few spots of wear showing in a few well hidden, but expected places to see a little wear. The contrasting brown doors lead into the matching brown interior color. Replacement, period correct seats have been recovered in the correct color since the original seat upholstery was really showing its age. A few Sunpro gauges have been neatly added to the dashboard to help monitor engine vitals. Providing some protection from the elements is a matching bikini top.
Under the hood is a 232ci Inline 6 mated to an automatic transmission. A new fuel pump and alternator were installed recently to help keep this thing running like a top. A nice option that this Jeep has is the QuadraTrac 4 wheel drive system - 1976 was the first year for the QuadraTrac option in the CJ7. The QuadraTrac full time 4 wheel drive system was first offered on Jeeps in 1973, and were controlled by a switch mounted in the glovebox. Using a differential, the QuadraTrac system split torque between the front and rear wheels.
Levi's Jeeps are hard to find nowadays, but one that is in really nice, highly original condition like this one is becoming a rarity. Most everyone can get their hands on a pair of Levi's jeans, but a rare Levi's Jeep is another story. A nice bright color, QuadraTrac 4 wheel drive, solid body, and highly original components make up a great combination.
