Up for your consideration is the fastest and most looked at vehicle in my area. This is not a toy and should not be driven by a youngster because it is way too fast and could be dangerous if you accelerate and try to turn too sharp. This will pop a wheelie if it hooks up. I drive her to shows and to the beach allot. I drive her on the highway and all over Miami. I removed the 6-cylinder engine and than I installed a totally rebuilt Chevy 350 engine (400 HP) and a worked up turbo 350 transmission. I custom made the headers and true duals with side pipes. No one knows that there is a 350 engine in it unless they hear me at a light or if I open the hood. Then they freak out.
This DJ5 is a show jeep that is driven daily. She runs at 190 degrees in traffic. The engine is the 1970 Camaro block that is a 4-bolt main and she was just rebuilt with complete crank bearings, cam bearings, cam, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms and hardware. I put a new edelbrock manifold and 1407 carburetor on her. The headers were custom made and the battery tray was moved to the inside. The radiator is new and it is a high flow aluminum setup. The tranny cooler is in front of the radiator and is not mounted parallel. The transmission was just rebuilt by a local shop and the converter and shift kit were added a few weeks ago by me. I had the driveshaft made by Broward Driveline. The complete mounting and bracket setup was purchased from NOVAK so I can install the V8. The brakes must get upgraded because this engine is so damn powerful and the jeep has a hard time holding still in even idle. This is a headturner at every light and show.
Here's what she can use if you want to go all out:: Matching Front Bucket seats, upgrade to disc power brakes, fan shroud, wider and beefier wheels
The turn signal cam is broken so you have to hold the lever for the blinkers to work. I haven't found the correct part for the fix as of yet but I am sure there is one out there somewhere.
I have $5000 in the motor and transmission alone and the driveshaft cost me $600. I spent $3500 to get the bodywork done and have it painted by Economy Auto Paint and Bodyworks in Hollywood, Florida (receipts in hand) ... There are so many more things that I have done to this jeep to get it to where it is today and the money will never be brought back to my account but I am glad I still created her. I am selling her now because I am working on my next project (1985 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Station Wagon) w/Blown Big Block 454...Text me for additional pictures and video/info 954-980-9 three three 9
