1988 Jeep Wrangler YJ V8 4x4 5.3l Vortec Swap, Axle swap, King Coilovers ARB Air
1988 Jeep Wrangler Description
I am selling my 1988 Jeep Wrangler YJ. This Jeep has had major work done in the last few years all by professional mechanics. It started life as a straight 6 cylinder with a manual transmission that was replaced with a fuel injected 5.3 liter vortec V8 motor out of a Chevy Silverado. And a 700r4 overdrive automatic transmission. The body/tub is in great shape with no rust/damage. The motor was removed from a rear end collision truck with about 75k miles on the odometer. It was checked over for damage/leaking but was in perfect shape. After that, new axles were installed from a 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ Rubicon Dana 30 front and 44 rear with disk brakes on all 4 wheels. A Rubicon Express 4.5 inch long arm suspension was installed with King Coilovers in the front and coil springs in the rear. All of the mechanical/suspension work was done about 3 years/11,000 miles ago. I just recently put a ton of new parts on the jeep. Most of the exterior parts are brand new with less than 200 miles. I believe it's the sender because the needle just bounces and doesn't read correctly. The transmission is leaking. I haven't had any time to go get it checked out but it still drives great and I check the fluid every time I use the Jeep. The price reflects the possible cost of rebuilding the transmission if needed, but it could just be a seal. The dash top has some cracks from being out in the sun. It never bothered me but I bought a dash cover for the new owner. I love this jeep and have had a ton of fun with it, but I just have too many toys and not enough space. I just drove it to Buena Vista and back with no issues at all (250 miles through the mountains) it runs and drives great and will do 80mph on the highway at 2200 rpm. If you went to a shop and tried to recreate this jeep it would cost well over $50k. Only high quality parts were used and a crazy amount of man hours went into this. I'm asking $18,500 but am open to offers, maybe a trade for a low mile diesel truck. No lowball offers. I know exactly what I have and won't respond to insulting offers. I have a clean Colorado title in my name ready to go. This vehicle is being sold AS IS with absolutely no warranty.
