UK British Military Special Ops truck, specifically remodeled and designed for Expedition ColdFoot (fastest circumnavigation of Iceland).
Based originally on the Land Rover Tithonus project – each Tithonus Defender was individually selected by the British MOD for its prime condition. It was then fully refurbished by the MOD in 2008, as part of the British Army LEP (life extension program).
The project was to extend the overall service life of the Land-Rovers by 10 years, from 20 to 30 years. The refit was a total overhaul of the chassis and all major components, except for the engine and gearbox, which remained original.
This particular truck was then selected as one of two vehicles to participate in Op ColdFoot as they were of excellent condition and were 12V rather than the Wolf Platform (24V). Both had a further overhaul by Special Ops Engineers, the summary of which is listed below:
-Fully rebuilt engine (contact for all the specifics) with R380 Gearbox and LT230 Transfer case (1.2 ratio)
-Electric fan fitted, cone air intake
-Power Steering
-Wolf Spec drive shaft with all rubber seals added
-Rear Salisbury axle converted to disc brake (wolf discs and calipers)
-Heavy duty Half Shafts
-Heated wing mirrors (switch on dashboard)
-Heated windscreen (switch on dashboard) - 10 min timer off, wiring in place but screen not fitted
-Up-rated centre console with 6x carling switches (illuminated and with icon ofcomponent built into face)
-Metal dash binnacle mount
-USB and cigarette charger on center console
-MP3/Radio on center console with two speakers underdash in cab (personally fitted)
-Steering wheel changed to Recaro R1 all leather (personally fitted)
-Full internal/externalroll cage
-1x 24’’lights bar - rear for reversing/work light - switch oncenter console
-1x 52’’lights bar front mounted on roll cage - curved floodlight - three stage switch on dash, enabling it to come on with full beams, off or on independent of the running lights.
Both lights bars are LED and all lights are CREE. Both lights bars are marine grade (waterproof/shock proof), and have Aquaseal connectors - so they are removable.
-Wheels are 16x10 inch (deep dish) steel wheels - black new with BF Goodrich 285/65/16 balanced wheels and one spare (all haveloads of tread)
-30mm wheel spacers fitted
-Galvanised 1.5’’ front spring spacer, 1’’ rear spring spacer to level truck

-Leather handbrake & gear gaiter (personally fitted)
-Marine grade Auxiliary fuse board fitted, with 100 amps in line‘mega’fuse breaker frombattery compartment (all upgrades eg lights bars run through)
