Land Rover Defender 90 200TDI Station Wagon RHD
1991 Land Rover Defender County Station Wagon Description
1991 Land Rover 90 Diesel County Station Wagon.
RHD, recently imported from the UK.
This is an original 1991 Defender 90 fitted from the factory with the 200TDI engine. The 200TDI was the step change in Land Rover diesel engines. Before this they were slow and smoked a lot. The 200TDI was the first engine to enable the venerable Defender to drive at highway speeds without the inevitable cloud of diesel smoke. The 200TDI is direct injection and has an intercooler, offering a considerable performance advantageover its predecessors. The 200TDI provides good low down torque and excellent gas mileage. It has a 5-speed manual transmission which transmits the power through a 2 speed (Hi and low) transfer box with a locking center differential with permanent 4-wheel drive.
The body is aluminum on top of a steel chassis. This 90 is the much sought after County Station Wagon model which has rear windows, rear seats and a reasonable amount of trim. The Defender is much loved for its rugged construction, simple mechanics and all round basic simplicity.
This is a very straight and original Land Rover 90 with its original paint. Mechanically it is sound and drives very well. The engine is strong, it shifts nicely and the drive train is tight. It has been well maintained.
It is fitted with NAS spec alloy wheels and Goodrich tires.
The Vin Number is SALLDVAF7HA704792
