1980 Land Rover Defender D90 Description

***The Defender is also for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time until there is one bid, at which point I will remove the local listing.***
For sale is my 1988 D90. I bought it as a project to ultimately restore completely, but ended up buying a house with limited parking, and don't have the heart to leave her outside. The truck has been mechanically restored by a licensed and reputable Defender shop locally, and I have records for all the work that has been done. It has a clean, US Colorado title, so there will be no bureaucratic hoops to jump through to register.
It has a new fuel system, lines, lift pump, injection pump, filter, separator, fuel tank and glow plugs. 5 new 34" tires, 2.5" Terra Firma lift, with new perches. Swivel balls have been overhauled, all brake lines and hoses have been replaced, and system flushed. Brake rotors, drums, calipers, pads, and shoes, are all brand new. New radiator with added TDI intercooler, new fan and clutch. Frame has been blasted, repaired, and waxoiled. All lights have been rewired, and headlights are now LED units. Power steering lines replaced, and system flushed. New starter. All belts including timing belt replaced, valves adjusted, and injection timing optimised, engine compression tested and inspected. All fluids front to back flushed and replaced. New oil pressure sender. New wiper motor and transmission, and washer nozzles. New bonnet latch, replaced all suspension bushings and rear center ball joint. New front radius arm bushings, front panhard rod bushings, rear trailing arm bushings, upper a-arm bushings. All door locks, latches and sill escutcheons replaced. New tie rod ends and drag link ends, overhauled pittman arm ball joint. New fuel level sender, although the best it reads is a quarter tank is empty and three quarters is full, common on these. New LED front headlights. The work, parts and labor totaled a little over $20k. I have not yet installed a radio, the left passenger side mirror is cracked, and that window is off track.
I have driven a few defenders, and this one rides smoother, truer, and nicer than any I've been in. The glow plugs take less than 20 seconds to get going, and then fires right up when cold with the normal amount of lumpy idle until it gets going (a few seconds) and then the normal amount of 19J fuel smoke until it begins to warm up. It runs super strong, and can easily cruise over 70 (on flat highway).
With Ebay's limited picture policy, I focused in on the imperfections I found, but if you'd like anything specific, just let me know. Visit the link to view them all. The truck does need body restoration, there is some rust and corrosion on the bulkhead and other parts of the vehicle. The corrosion does not affect the way the truck runs or drives, and may be driven this way for years, but it was my intent to address the rust and repaint it. It does leak fluids like every other diesel Defender in the US, but of the ones I've seen, it leaks a bit less than normal. Please feel free to contact me with questions or specific photo requests.
