1989 Land Rover Defender 90 ROW RHD 2.5l Petrol 5 speed
1989 Land Rover Defender Description
1989 Land Rover Defender 90 Right Hand Drive 2.5l petrol engine with 5 speed transmission. It is 4wd all the time. Been in the US since Sept 2014. I have all the proper paper work and it has been registered in TN for the past 2 1/2 years. Clear TN title, VIN# SALLDVBD7FA384941. Has 130K miles on it. Importer told it me motor had been rebuilt at some time, although could not provide any documentation. I did adjust the valves and the top of the motor looked very clean. I've replaced most of the suspension parts along with new bolts/nuts when possible. Differential has a little leak, a few drops after driving a lot, no other drips on ground. Tons of new parts. I have purchased over $6500 in parts, many of which I had imported at a cost savings of several thousand. The stock petrol has a little over 80hp. Previous owner had a/c installed, but I never had it charged. Compressor does turn on and I replaced both electric fans for the condenser. 2" suspension lift with BFG KM2 285/75/16 on newer defender wheels. As I replaced the suspension parts, I put new bushings and ball joints and pretty much replaced every nut and bolt for the replacement parts. Also has full size spare and matching new tire. Paint is dull, chipping and faded, you can see the color difference where the side decals were removed. Speedometer is in Kilometers, the previous owner put stickers with MPH.
Some of the Newer parts:5- BFG KM2 285/75/16 tires $1350Terrafirma 2" springs and shocks $500Terrafirma castor corrected front radius arms $500Terrafirma rear rose joint radius arms $500Terrafirma steering damper $75Locking console box $400Rear cargo mat $250Mud Rear door panel $250All bushings, ball joints, driveline u-joints,etc.SS braided brake linesFront seat covers
Brakes were good, so I did not refurb but did replace rear wheel cylinders. Have all bearings and gaskets to replace axle bearings. Have all bearings and gaskets to rebuild front swivel pins/ball, except the actual swivel balls. I have bought tons of the nickel and dime parts that needed replaced. Only has two jump seats installed in the rear, but I do have the other two. Rust spot on rear frame and both front outriggers have some rust in them. Have some old MOT receipts, not sure how the fiberglass on the outrigger passed.. Front door weatherstrip seals leak when it rains, they are not the kind with preformed corners, they are new, but just snipped the corners to get them to work. I do have a heater box if someone decided to remove the A/C and put it back to just heater.
I've put probably 2k miles on it since all the new parts were put on. Cruises at 55mph.
