1984 Land Rover Defender Soft Top Description

This 1984 Land Rover 90 is a right-hand drive example that recently underwent an overhaul including fitment of a galvanized frame, Old Man Emu suspension, Puma doors, a new roll cage, fresh paint, and more. The work was completed in March 2018 by marque specialist Sarek Autowerke, with over $30k in receipts. Will provide receipts at request.
Power is from a 4.0-liter GEMS V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. This RHD is offered with receipts for the work recently completed and a clear Virginia title.
Alpine White paint can be seen in varying lighting conditions below, while the original blue remains visible in the engine compartment. New Puma doors, a replacement tailgate, and a fresh soft top have been installed.
A Safety Devices Roll Cage has been added and is fitted with LED lights. The front bumper has been augmented with a brush guard, and a swing-away spare tire carrier is mounted out back. Discovery 16″ wheels are painted black and wear BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires.
An Ashcroft console and gray seats have been added, and black rubber floor mats have been fitted over the painted floors. The ignition switch was replaced last year, as were the driver’s door regulator, heater core, and blower motor. The speedometer is not original and total miles are unknown.
New side facing seats with belts have been added in the rear passenger area along with a replacement cargo mat. The interior was painted during the recent refurbishment, and a new wiring harness was fitted.
The 4.0-liter alloy V8 is equipped with a GEMS engine management system and was originally rated at around 190 horsepower. A new radiator and coolant hoses were recently installed as well as a fresh alternator, battery, and belts. Fluids and filters were changed within the last two months. Power is sent to all four wheels through a4-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case, which was replaced in June 2017.
Old Man Emu springs and gas shocks have been fitted and provide for a 2″ lift. Other additions include Terrafirma steering rods and new front wheel bearings. A new brake master cylinder has been installed as well as replacement front brake hoses, calipers, rotors, and pads. Additional undercarriage photos showing the galvanized frame are available.
