The car was imported from Italy, where it spent its entire life in the dry, Mediterranean climate. Virtually all of these Landys from the UK, Germany, and similar countries are completely rusted due to harsh elements, road salts, and snow. Plus it’s factory LHD, not a conversion of questionably quality.
This 1988 Land Rover Ninety (90) is a left-hand drive example which was imported from Italy in early 2019, and which is finished in red with factory turbo graphics and a removable hard top. The truck is powered by a turbocharged 2.5L diesel inline-four backed by a 5-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes three-abreast seating and a set of factory inclinometers!The truck is finished in red with factory Turbo graphics. The removable hard top is equipped with safari windows, and the truck retains factory bumpers, lighting, and a trailer hitch.
The 16″ steel wheels are fitted with Brand New Michelin 4X4-O/R tires measuring 7.50r16, and an early Range Rover steel wheel with a 205r16 spare tire is fitted on the rear tire carrier. Fold-away steps are provided for the driver, passenger, and rear compartment.
Three-abreast seating is provided in the forward compartment, with grey vinyl-upholstered seats, black rubberized mats, and a factory Land Rover-branded steering wheel. The rear compartment is configured for cargo, and is equipped with black rubber floor liners.Instrumentation includes a 150-km/h speedometer, temperature and fuel gauges in the primary cluster, and an engine hour meter, temperature gauge, and a pair of inclinometers mounted in the center of the dash. 259k kilometers (~160k miles) are shown.
The 2.5-liter turbodiesel inline-four was factory-rated at 85 horsepower with 150 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to all four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
