1986 Land Rover Defender - Kevlar Infused coating similar to Starwood Jeeps
1900 Land Rover Defender Description
Up for sale is a 1986 Land Rover Defender. I have had this truck for about 6 years. If you don't want to spend a year rebuilding one or the cost of a house buying a full resto-mod, this is the perfect Defender for you! Its is a beautiful, well running, mechanically refreshed Defender that is in great shape.
Upon purchasing, I put it in the shop with instructions to fix, refresh or rebuild anything needed to make it a dependable everyday truck. Most of the work was completed at North Texas British in Dallas and they can provide all records and proof of work if needed. Since its overhaul, I have used it around town and have put less than 2000 miles on it. Just about everything was cleaned up or replaced except the transmission - which was deemed to be performing strong.
I've had my fun rebuilding it and driving it and owning it, but am clearing out room in the carport for some work trucks and this one is not getting driven enough.
I don't sell cars for a living, so ask away if you have questions and I will answer as best as I can. All serious offers and conversations will be considered.
I am in the Dallas area if you want to see it in person.
Mechanically and Operationally1. Previous owner had swapped in a 4.0 liter LR Disco engine with a Carb. We pulled it and rebuilt it. While out, we replaced motor mounts as previous mounts were not up to the quality we wanted.2. New Suspension components3. Has internal AC unit. Good bit of cold air, but if you are looking at these, you know they only get so cold.4. All lighting was swapped to LED.5. Dual Batteries installed with isolation system. Also has a pigtail that connects to one battery that can be connected in the driver rear wheel well for easy charging, jumps, powering of equipment, etc.6. New Stereo and speakers installed.7. Odometer is still in KM and is showing approx. 252,000KM. Since overhaul its been driven 2000 miles.8. I can provide VIN#, proof of title and TX registration if requested. (ebay has problems with these British VIN#s)
Cosmetically:1. The truck was white when i purchased it, and from areas in engine compartment was green in a prior life. I had the exterior coated with a Kevlar infused Bed Liner material - two tone. Most of the truck is a grey with hood, roof and accents being a Black. Since coated its been stored covered in garage or covered enclosed carport.2. New leather buckets installed in the front along with a locking center compartment. Rear are leather buckets as well that swing up out of the way.3. Black Carpet throughout with a grey headliner. Headliner has some sags in it.4. Multiple layers of insulation on floor boards and around cockpit area....its quieter...but its a manual defender, not quiet.5. Rims were dipped black to match color scheme.
As noted feel free to reach out with questions, etc.Titled in Texas and I have clear title in my possession.
