You have found a very cool, classic Japanese sport-coupe. This first year SC model hit North America one year after the debut of the Toyota Soarer in Japan, which aside from badging, was the same car. It was an instant hit and now these cars are very desirable, especially in clean, stock condition. Now, this car has had the paint refinished at some point in it's life and it looks just amazing as you can see in the photos. Will the car win the award for best paint at a car show? Probably not but this is no Maaco Job, it's a very good quality refinish. The paint is super glossy and deep with a nice clear-coat over the pearl Garnet Red base, it gets several compliments. The nice thing is that the car is all stock and unmodified, every panel retains it's VIN# label proving it's absolute originality. No 'performance' parts, no 'soup-can' exhaust that makes it sound like a lawnmower, no intake systems, programmers or anything else. And of course, no custom electronics, no hacked in alarms or stereo systems, just how you want to find one. Aside from the window tint and the 18" alloy wheels, the car is showroom floor 'stock'. That being said, the original 15" alloy wheels are included and they have brand new Yokohama tires. The car was originally sold at Lexus of Danvers, MA and the owner spent most of his time with it in the south-west. As you can tell there are no rust issues on the car and it was undercoated prior to delivery at the selling dealer. Also worthy of a mention, the car comes with all owners books, 12 Disc CD cartridge, first aid kit, original Lexus service card, re-print of the window sticker (Priced at $37,000 in 1992, that would be nearly $70,000 in todays money!), factory floor mats, tools, jack and new spare. It has two keys, one master key (remote entry still works!) and one aftermarket spare, no remote feature but works as it should. Please take the time to read my in-depth description and review the 120 high definition photos below including several of the undercarriage where you can see the car has no corrosion issues and has never been damaged.
The body of the car is nice and straight, aside from a very few small chips and a 3" scratch on the trunklid (just right of the Lexus 'L') there are no major dings, dents or scratching. Paint is incredibly shiny and rich looking, I had it professionally wet-sanded and three stage polished for the ultimate shine. All trim, emblems etc. look great, lights and lenses are excellent and in good working order. Glass is excellent, windshield has been recently replaced, sides and rears have nice tint on them, no fading or peeling. The car is currently wearing a set of 18" alloy wheels that look very nice and I feel update the car, those tires are decent and show 70% tread life remaining. I am also including the 15" original wheels with brand new Yokohama tires.
The interior is very clean and smells nice as the previous owner was a non-smoker. Carpets are clean and show no staining, headliner, visors and door panels are all in fantastic original condition as well. There are a few small blemishes inside, there is a fracture in the plastic on both the center AC vent and the passenger vent, a small split in the vinyl under the vent in the door panel (most of these cars show cracked door panels on both sides all the way through, this is very minor, less than 1/2" on just the driver's door). Console and dash are in excellent shape, again, these will warp and crack, not this one. The seats look really nice, there was a split on the driver's bolster so I had both front seats reconditioned, they look fantastic as you can see in the photos. Aside from the power mirrors and the red illumination on the tach and speedo needle, everything appears to work. Power windows, locks, seats, power tilt/telescopic steering and moonroof. AC is nice and cold (just serviced) and even the power antenna works fairly well.
Mechanically there is not a whole lot to describe, it's a top quality Lexus with just 117k miles on it. That's the equivalent of a 30k mile domestic vehicle. It starts up nicely, has good power and the transmission shifts nicely. No leaks, no overheating and it drives great for an original 28 year old sport coupe. The car gets lots of attention and thumbs up and is fun to be behind the wheel of it. Also worth mentioning and you can reference the photo of the car running, there are no warning, air bag or service lights on in the dash.
This car, in this condition would be on the front line of any specialty auto dealer for $8995 or more, imagine what it could bring at a collector auction. I am offering it here on eBay for just seven days with a $99 opening bid and absolutely no reserve, the highest bidder next Saturday will own this beautiful Lexus SC. I am happy to assist with transport or provide free airport pickup if you wish to fly in and drive it home, I would get in it and drive it until the pavement stops with utmost confidence, I can't say enough about the quality of Toyota/Lexus products. Please feel free to call me at (602)315-4055 with any questions. Remember, if you bid and you win, you are legally obligated to finalize your transaction. Thank you for your cooperation and thank you for looking at my Lexus SC300.
