1979 Lincoln Mark Series Base Coupe 2-Door Description

there was a bid but the buyer backed out, not a serious buyer i guess,, it's well worth twice the starting price. the body is solid and rust fre, i did see one or 2 spots too small to show up in photos with a minor rust bubble under the paint, one near the side view mirror and one near the vinyl top, again, they are very small and just small bubbles under the paint, not rust though, , the body is dent free and everything lines up great, all the lights work inside and out, the exhaust is new from the front to the back. the radiator was replaced with an all aluminium one and runs cool no matter how hot is is outside, the 400 ci engine has 99,000 miles and counting. it runs smooth with no smoke or noises. the trans shifts fine, the 4 wheel disc brakes stop on the dime, the car floats down the road like a lincoln should and ride better then anything on the road today. tires hold air and have tread but are old and should be replaced before any interstate highway cruising. the interior is in nice shape for its age, leather seats are good, only the usual leather cracking from age but nothing terrible, carpets are intact but has one wear hole from getting in and out about 2" x 3". door panels are in very good shape, headliner is good but has one seam that opened up, could easily be repaired but it's not hanging down.. the dash has one crack right in the middle but the rest is in nice shape,,, all dash lights work, all gauges work, even the CARTIER clock works. Has the factory turbine mag wheels. For the price, it's a great old lincoln that does not need a ton of work done, it starts easily if run regularly, cranks for a while if it sits for long periods. only mechanical work i would do if i were to keep it is to go ahead and have the carb rebuilt, the frame is solid on the car as are the floors and trunk pans. i believe it will perform even better with a carb rebuild.. the 400 ci v8 does a fine job of moving this long car as it is, plenty of power ..trunk is clean and still has the trunk carpets all intact and in good condition, feel free to stop by and take a look at it and if you want specific photos of something, just ask and i'll send them too you. starting it off fairly low considering the book value on these Mark V cars these days and what others are asking for them on here. this one will sell fairly cheap, NO RESERVE so please don't be one of those jackwagons that bids and then asks questions or wins the bid and does not want the car. only bid if your looking to buy it and only bid what your looking to spend, the car is located in northeast phila pa 19111 and i will work with your shipper or may be able to deliver for a fee myself on a flatbed trailer to distances of up to 100 miles from phila pa 19111 for an additional price to be settled after the auction, feel free to call for any additional info on the car at 215-713-8913
