1966 Lincoln Continental Description

1966 Lincoln Continental
Low Reserve
Your are viewing a 1966 Lincoln Continental. This is technically a two owner car but really only a one owner car (I will explain later.) The Lincoln is all original with 99k miles. Lincoln is powered by a 462 v8 engine with a 3 speed transmission. Over all condition of the Lincoln is Great! The owner of the Lincoln took very good care of his car. It was his pride and joy. The Lincoln is finished with a cream on cream color scheme. The exterior body and lacquer paint still shows very nice after all these years. The Lincoln shows some minor aging like: a rock chip here and there, a couple small door dings, one dent on the passenger side front fender from the original owner hitting his mail box while pulling out of the driveway. Chrome is all in great shape, no pitting or rust. All exterior stainless is in mint condition. The interior of the Lincoln looks like it was never sat in. I would even dare to say its perfect and in immaculate shape. The interior truly shows off the luxury behind the Lincoln name. All the instruments work inside the vehicle including all power windows and antenna. The Lincoln has a fresh tune up from sitting for over 25 years. Everything listed is new: battery, spark plugs, spark plug wires, points, condenser, edelbrock carburetor, oil change. The Lincoln runs, drives, and stops great. Driving down the road you feel like your floating on a cloud. The new owner will need to put new mufflers on it. There are a few exhaust leaks coming from the mufflers.
Here is a little history behind the 1966 Lincoln...
The original owner ordered the Lincoln direct from the factory. I was told he took a lot of time going through the catalog picking and choosing his wants and needs. He had to wait months for the car to be made. Once delivered the car came with a custom embossed name tag with his first and last name complements of Lincoln "still attached to dash." After only a few years of driving the car he was drafted into the Vietnam war. I was told that around town he was known as a "Do Gooder," would give his shirt off his back for the right cause. After returning from the war he opened a restaurant. The sign to his restaurant was a picture of him posing with the Lincoln. Him and the Lincoln were very well known in the small community of Silverton Oregon. The Lincoln was featured and participated in all the annual local parades and events. After the owner passed his best friend and fellow vet inherited the Lincoln. Because the Lincoln was so iconic in the community and for other close to his heart reasons, the friend did not feel right driving the car. The Lincoln sat in a garage out in the middle of nowhere for over 25 years. The friend felt that it was finally time to send the Lincoln to a new loving family. He loved the car and his passing friend very much. I have now assumed the responsibility of finding the Lincoln a new home.
