RARE COLOR COMBO LOW MILEAGE ONE OWNER 1979 LINCOLN TOWN CAR
Car is locally advertised so in the event an offer is accepted, I reserve right to end auction early so do not wait to bid.High bidder will BUY the car unless a local sale takes place first.
This car has just seen the light of day last week for the first time in many many years of hibernating in local barn (Cement floor in Barn)
Car is equipped with power everything including, windows, locks, seats, top, trunk lid release and more. I will be happy to answer any questions. Just email them. I also encourage the prospective buyers to view the car first if possible? Or have someone look at it for you.
This car has survived sitting and is now ready for new owner to get her back on the road.
Engine: Factory Original V8
Note: This car has been sitting and will need to be thoroughly gone thru to be road worthy. ie. belts, hoses, check/service brakes, tires replaced etc.
Following has just been done to the car...
-Old gas removed and fresh gas in tank-Fuel lines disconnected, blown out and cleaned of old gas-New fuel pump installed-Oil / Filter changed
This car starts up easily and runs very strong. Motor sounds great and has plenty of power. Transmission shifts smoothly into all gears and floats down the road. Power steering works great. Can steer car with one finger.
Drives like you are on cloud 9! Plenty of POWER in the original motor.
NOTE( We test drove the car a few miles but as stated above, it will need serviced to be daily driver)
Interior:
Not much to say that the photos won’t show. Everything in Great condition which leads us to believe the miles on car are original at 66151. Seats etc. All great. Super comfortable. Only item noted is a small hole in head liner where seams pulled apart. There was evidence of some mice in car over the years but no damage noted from them. Only a bit of moth ball smell from previous owners storage place.
Exterior:
Paint color is original to the car but it has had a respray many years ago. Appears to be some very minor body work performed back then and it has held up well. A few dings here andthere from storage but over all I would say it is in good driver condition. Paint a bit dull in appearance.
Underneath:
Is fairly clean (see photos) Appears the radiator core support is rusted out from an old radiator leak. Pretty simple swap out repair on that. The rest of the underside and frame appear to be in good condition. Floors solid, trunk solid.
Following are the needs we noted the car could use other than normal road worthy servicing items...-Rear muffler has dropped off and needs replaced-as noted early, radiator core support-possible heater core leak or just a heater hose. has leak on pass firewall.-Tires are old and dry-SUMMARY…This car starts, runs, drives and stops as it should but will need serviced due to its extended period of time sitting indoors in a barn.I have tried to be very detailed and describe all I know about car.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS CAR IS OVER 35 YEARS OLD AND ALTHOUGH IT HAS METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED, CARS OF THIS ERA WILL ALWAYS NEED SOMETHING FROM TIME TO TIME BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT NEW.
Email questions. Thanks!
