The super Luxurious (and expensive) Diamond Jubilee Edition Mark V was introduced to help commerate the Ford's 75'th Anniversary. In 1978 theyproduced 5159 of these cars. . I f you want one of these last big American cars then this may be the one for you. The car was bought new in 78 at our local Ford dealer and the last time it was plated was in 1991. The car has been sitting ever since then and the way it looks it has been sitting outside in the sun for a long time.
The speedometer read 59,549 and believe to be the actual mileage, I ask the past owner and he said his mother never drove it much. The color of this car is Diamond blu, the paint is faded bad of course, but this is when Ford was the first years using the clear coat on the paint. This car is very straight with very little rust, just check the two images for the rust, one dent on the right rear quarter but not very big (3 in. long). On the left rear behind the wheel well it is pushed in a little. Bumpers are straight, all the glass is good, except the windshield has cracks. The tire are the tires on the car when I bought it and they do hold air, the tread looks new, the factory diamond blue wheels are good, but rusted thru some of the paint in places. Some of the vinyl trim is missing off the sides and the rear vinyl pad is bad on the trunk. The interior is original and cloth, but the sun destroyed the rear view mirror and the rear seat on the top by the package tray.
Overall the car is solid and do not know of anything missing, it has all the options, the four options on top of everything else was the bad ass 460 engine which sound really good after tune up and service, this car has the dual exhaust option, the power sun-roof, the 40 channel cb radio is there, The car has abrand new regular size spare tire and also had the factory space-saver tire and the bottle to inflate it in the original box. This alone is rare. The tool kit is complete and in good shape it even has the part lists included from the dealer, the umbrella is in the console look new. The car has everything, the best of the best in it's day.
If a person didn't care what it looked like he could just drive this car, a little tinkering, cleaning and and you could have a daily driver, Or he couldhave it restored and have a beautiful rare car. I want to sell this car with everything together. I will not sell overseas. Title in my name and ready to be signed. Good Luck.
