1963 Lincoln Continental Description
VIN is:3Y82N414227 (not accepted in the ebay VIN section)Note mileage is around 107,250.
This is a great opportunity to buy an appreciating classic from an infamous year. This 1963 Lincoln Continental is finished in Nocturne Blue with a Light Blue cloth interiorpowered by a 430ci V8 paired to a 3-speed automatic transmission.
Paperwork dating back to 1960s includes parts/maintenance receipts, a copy of the original title, and past registrations. Offered with a new factory workshop manual, period brochures, as well as a recent fluids service and 4 brand new ($900) period correct tires.
The paint is thought to be mostly original, with quite a few areas of repairs and repainting. The finish shows areas of cracking lacquer across the the majority of the car, (shown up close in the photographs) as well as scratches and other blemishes throughout. Signs of body filler just in front of the passenger side rear wheel arch and front wing are evident, as well as behind the wheel. Chrome is quite nice, with pitting noted on some smaller pieces including door handles, side mirror, and headlamp trim.
There is some uni-body corrosion with the worst area being in the drivers sill area (shown in photograph). There is also a little body corrosion behind the passenger rear wheel.
The interior is clean and well presented and the car drives well. Some oil leaks are evident when parked. Brakes and steering are good. The engine runs well, and does not smoke at start up. Car can be a little hard to start after long term parking due to fuel evaporation from the carb float chambers.
Electronics are relatively good, it should be noted that both electric rear windows are currently not moving up or down (yet to be diagnosed). There was no AC fitted originally, heat works well.
The 5 digit odometer shows around 7250 miles and I believe it has rolled over once.
